This was the concept for a 2D horror game where you enter an abandoned building and need to survive the night or defeat the ghosts that live inside. This concept was made in roughly 2 weeks without a final functioning prototype. Everything was created by me as a solo project to practice and develop my skills in creating games.
The initial concept started from this idea of having a ghost who was in charge basically of this castle and of letting the player free or not. The ghost was roughly inspired by 1950's style of clothing and hair. The main idea for the character was to have a vengeful spirit guarding this space and you have to get past her in order to survive. She was also intended to be a part of the story you uncover while exploring the areas inside the building.
The extra ghosts were meant to be her minions/victims that were now under her orders. The main ghost herself was also meant to be a victim of murder originally and since her death she has grown resentful and angry to all that enter the area that was once her home. The player was meant to unlock a garden area where they would find something that the ghost had when she was alive, but had since forgotten about. After receiving the item the ghost would be able to move on. The full plot was never fully completed only the designs and concepts created.
She was meant to have different forms based on interactions and stages of the game. On the left her regular ghost form. In the middle her form when you initially approach her and she is angry with the player. On the right is her normal appearance after speaking to her.
This was meant to be the players character.
Below a rough Illustration for the game background
This was meant to be one of the side ghosts you encounter.
As seen below in the prototype I created.
