PopTitle ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our Chrome Extension ("the Extension") collects, uses, and safeguards your information.
1. Data Collection and Usage
PopTitle does NOT collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers.
The Extension operates entirely locally on your device. We do not track your browsing history, and we do not collect any personally identifiable information (PII).
2. Permissions and Technical Access
To function correctly, PopTitle requires specific permissions:
Storage (`storage`): We use the Chrome Storage API to save your preferences locally (e.g., your highlight color, dictionary toggle settings (GRE/JLPT), and "show Chinese meaning" preference). This data is synced with your Chrome account if you have sync enabled, but we do not have access to it.
Host Permissions (`https://www.netflix.com/*` and `https://www.youtube.com/*`): The Extension accesses the Document Object Model (DOM) of these websites solely to identify subtitle elements, match text against our internal dictionary, and display overlay tooltips. We do not read or collect any other content from these pages.
3. Third-Party Services
This Extension does not use any third-party analytics tools (like Google Analytics) or advertising networks.
