I am a Senior Researcher (with tenure) in the Economics Department at IOS (Leibniz Institute for East and Southeast European Studies), Regensburg (Germany) and a Research Fellow at IZA-Institute of Labor Economics, Bonn, Germany.
I am an Associate Editor of the Journal of Population Economics, the Journal of Happiness Studies, and of Comparative Southeast European Studies. In addition, I serve as a section editor for the Handbook "Labor, Human Resources and Population Economics".
I am an applied microeconomist. RePEc ranks me in the top 5% of female economists and in the top 8% of all economists globally (based on publications in the last 10 years). My research interests include Health and Environmental Economics, Development Economics, Quantitative Economic History, and Applied Labor Economics
