No Doubt, the band consisting of singer Gwen Stefani, guitarist Tom Dumont, bassist Tony Kanal, and drummer Adrian Young, is one of the most recognized American rock bands of the last 25 years. After making an impression in their native Southern California, they were signed by Interscope and released their 1992 ska pop album No Doubt to mixed reviews and a poor commercial response; without the support from their label they recorded and released their rawer-sounding follow-up independently, 1995's The Beacon Street Collection, to a warmer reception, which led Interscope to fully back the band for their next release, Tragic Kingdom, also released in 1995; that album catapulted the band to the stratosphere, thanks to its mixture of third wave ska and new wave with pop sensibilities, and received a positive response. After a two-year tour and another two years of recording sessions, the year 2000 saw the release of the more complex Return to Saturn, which, in spite of a positive critical response and generally healthy commercial performance, failed to repeat the success of its predecessor. That album was followed just a year later by Rock Steady, a more commercial effort with elements of electropop and dancehall, that got them some of the best reviews in their career and also some of their biggest hits overall. In 2003 the band released a greatest hits compilation and multiple other career-spanning releases in preparation for an upcoming hiatus, among those releases was the compilation Everything in Time (B-sides, Rarities, Remixes). After the release of two wildly-successful Gwen Stefani solo albums, the band started to slowly work into completing a follow-up release, and after multiple setbacks and slow working process, they properly returned until 2012 with the poppier Push And Stove, an album that got them positive reviews but failed to replicate the success of their heyday. Although they have performed live sporadically ever since, the band is official in hiatus since 2013.
During their career, No Doubt, which has sold over 33 million records worldwide, has been awarded with 5 MTV Video Music Awards, 2 Grammy Awards 1 Billboard Video Music Award and 1 Brit Award.
