Florence + the Machine, the band fronted by singer Florence Welch and keyboardist/composer Isabella Summers, is a widely-acclaimed group who have remained as one of the most respected indie rock acts ever since their debut over a decade ago. In 2009, and after a large degree of hype, their debut album Lungs debuted and was an sleeper commercial hit, eventually selling over 3 million copies worldwide; the band continued the maximalist and dramatic sound of their debut with Ceremonials in 2011, which replicated the strong critical and commercial response of their first release. After a long hiatus, the band's third studio album, How Big How Blue How Beautiful, was unleashed in 2015 to critical praise and strong sales and was followed three years later by High as Hope, which, just like its predecessor, toned down Florence's trademark rousing style for a more stripped-down vocal-oriented approach.

During their career the band has been nominated for seven Grammy Awards and have won three NME Awards, two Brit Awards and one MTV Video Music Award
