What is your focus regarding the artists in your collection? Are you more interested in emerging or renowned artists?

Contrary to some collectors, I am interested in the thought process behind the works and what drives the artist. How distinct and divergent an artwork is also plays a role. I am interested in semi-emerging artists, that is to say usually those who have just found a gallery to represent them. You have to be very knowledgeable and talented to spot highly potential graduates fresh out of art school. I hardly know anyone under the age of 45 who has that skill. It takes years to hone and refine the senses towards art perception.

Is there any particular type of art that has consistently attracted you, or anything that unites all the works you have acquired?

My favorite medium is always oil paintings, nothing beats it. However, I am becoming more a more attracted to sculpture and video art. I am not afraid of conceptual art anymore. I like to think that the works in my collection will all move you one way or another and break with conventional ideas about art. I like works that challenge and kick-start a dialogue. In the coming years I expect to see a stronger pattern throughout my collection.

What is your vision for your collection in the upcoming five years?

I am always trying to develop a sense of focus and direction, which makes it increasingly easier to know what to acquire and what not to. There are a couple of artists on my wishlist that I would like to MUST add to my collection and the list is getting longer and longer I also save every article and data I can find about an artwork or an artist I have in my collection. I enjoy doing research on the artists, since it adds to my devotion and attachment to the artworks.

As you started collecting at a very young age, what are the advantages and challenges to start collecting at a young age?

I think the more art you see, the better your eyes get trained in art, so you can never see too much or start too early. over the years, I have been able to establish some great relationships with dealers, curators and galleries that have supported me along the way. Having started at a young age, their invaluable advice and mentorship have gotten me to where I am today. I recommend everyone who is new to the art world to find a mentor. Trust, transparency and loyalty are sadly not a given in the art world and have made me very selective when it comes to who I am buying from. Navigating the art world means following many unwritten rules, which can often only be learned by doing.

Who inspires you the most in the art world?

Beatrix Ruf. The work she has done for the Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam has taken the institution to a whole new level. Furthermore, the people who have mentored me and who have taken the time to support me along the way are of course an endless source of inspiration.

MS: One big theme that came out of it for us was about movement. We saw young people being in a place where they could get up and move entirely. So we interviewed Shay, in New Orleans, and she had moved four days before we interviewed her, from Virginia. Her job went remote, she realized I can take my entire life and move somewhere else. And Julius, who moved from Wisconsin to a town in Santa Fe.

Urine samples are commonly collected from young children to diagnose or exclude urinary tract infections, but collection from precontinent children is challenging. Each collection method has advantages and limitations. Non-invasive methods (urine pads, bags, clean catch) are convenient but can be time-consuming and are limited by sample contamination. Voiding stimulation methods (bladder-lumbar stimulation, Quick-Wee) can expedite clean catch collection. Invasive methods (catheter, suprapubic aspiration) can be more reliable, but require expertise to perform and cause pain for the child. This article reviews each collection method, and describes collection procedures, indications and strategies to optimise success and reduce contamination.

The young people not only contributed to cleaning up the environment by picking up cigarette butts, but they also made passers-by aware of the importance of not throwing these waste products into nature. By picking up cigarette butts, young people become aware that this harmless act is not a harmless one. And we can bet that they will not throw any more!

HexaCleanDay was supported by several higher education schools, such as ISG, ESG and AMOS, which relayed the action to their students. Professional soccer clubs also showed their commitment to the environment by giving away match tickets to participants. LOSC (Ligue1), FC Girondins de Bordeaux, Le Havre AC and Paris FC (Ligue2) encouraged the young generation to join forces and commit to the planet.

They contain many toxic chemicals, including acetone, ammonia, cadmium, arsenic, nicotine, and polonium-210, which are released when they come into contact with water. These chemicals are potentially lethal to marine organisms, such as fish, crustaceans and marine mammals, which can ingest or be exposed to them.

A big congratulations for this first edition to these numerous young people mobilized throughout France (Bordeaux, Paris, Lille, Toulouse, Marseille, Nantes, Le Havre and Lyon) for their efforts and their participation!

The Theatre for Youth and Community Collection is the world's largest archival repository of manuscripts, ephemera, and educational materials related to the history of youth theatre. The collection contains over 2600 linear feet of manuscripts and over 700 print materials of plays. The Theatre for Youth and Community Collection maintains and enhances access to rich and varied materials, from costumes to playbills, that reflect the rich history of professional performance and theatre education for young audiences.

The collection provides insight into the history and development of the field of theatre for young audiences, the implementation of drama in education programs, theatre in education, and, with it, of the performing arts for young audiences worldwide. The various materials document the history of the field, the educational work of its practitioners and form its memory.

We are becoming an inclusive archive available for every person we serve. We are one of the rarest collections in the world, and hope to serve anyone with a passion and interest in theatre for youth and community. This includes artists, teaching artists, scholars, educators, administrators, students, and youth themselves. We recognize the value of telling a history of theatre for young audiences and educators, which also acknowledging that this is not the only story. We celebrate this history, while also acknowledging the gaps and missing perspectives. A more inclusive, holistic history of the field is what we aspire to be.

This collection operates under the belief that there is no singular way to create work for young audiences and no singular canon that defines the field. We collect and preserve materials documenting the international histories of professional theatre for young audiences, youth theatre, and theatre education from the 17th century to present day.
