Robin's bee yard

10:00 AM-2:00 PM

579 Lake Dr, Guilford, CT 06437

Front yard along street

Admission: Free

A front lawn conversion to a Pollinator Garden. When we bought our home in 2016 this area was a lawn. Then I started keeping my bees down there and added a small wildflower patch, then at the end of 2019 when I decided to relocate the bees, I started turning the remaining area into a larger pollinator garden including native bushes and trees that also feed the birds... My goal is to provide a variety of native plants to host many different butterflies and birds...so there are violet patches for the fritillary butterflies and pokeberry stands for the cardinals.. it is a wild work in progress! I also have been adding natives to the existing gardens in my back yard- so you can tour that too..natives will be labeled.
