Polito Lab

Excited to share that our lab will be moving to the Ocean Sciences Department at the University of California Santa Cruz!

Welcome to the Polito Lab. We study the ecology of marine and coastal communities at the forefront of global environmental change and those that are under threat from anthropogenic influences. We combine stable isotopes and other dietary biomarkers with classical ecological approaches to explore both basic and applied questions surrounding species and food-web level responses to environmental stressors over modern, historic, and paleoecological time scales. Our work takes us from Louisiana to Antarctica and many places in between.

The Polito Lab strives to create an inclusive, respectful, intellectually challenging climate that embraces individual difference in race, ethnicity, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, age, spirituality, socioeconomic status, disability, family status, experiences, opinions and ideas.
