Polished Privacy Policy

Polished ("the extension") is a Chrome extension for recording your screen and taking screenshots, operated by FOXFROST. This policy explains what happens to your information when you use it.
Summary
Your recordings and screenshots never leave your computer. If you buy Polished Pro, payment is handled by Stripe, and the extension checks your license with our server. We never see your card details.
Recordings, screenshots and settings
Recordings, screenshots, your cursor and click positions, and your settings are saved only in your browser's local storage on your computer. They are never uploaded. Polished does not read or collect the content of the pages you visit.
Payments (Polished Pro)
Pro subscriptions are sold through Stripe, with Link (Stripe's consumer service) acting as the seller of record. When you buy Pro, you enter your email and payment details on Stripe's checkout page, not in the extension. Stripe processes the payment and handles taxes, receipts and payment support. Stripe shares your email address and subscription status with us so we can provide Pro. Stripe's privacy policy applies to the checkout: https://stripe.com/privacy
License checks
After you buy Pro, you receive a license key. The extension stores this key in your browser (Chrome may sync it to your other computers if you use Chrome sync) and sends it to our license server (polishedapp.pages.dev) every few hours to confirm your subscription is active. The license server does not store your data; it checks your subscription with Stripe and replies whether Pro is active.
What Polished does not do
- It does not upload your recordings or screenshots.
- It does not use analytics, tracking, advertising, or cookies.
- It does not sell or share your data, except with Stripe to process payments.
Your control
You can delete recordings and screenshots at any time in the extension. You can remove your license key from the pricing page, and manage or cancel your subscription through the Manage subscription button. Uninstalling the extension removes everything it stored on your computer. To ask about or delete payment data, contact us.
Children
Polished is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date.
