Pokémon GO Community Day
Hosted by: Pokémon GO Sydney Discord Group
Hosted by: Pokémon GO Sydney Discord Group
This November, Pokémon GO's featured Pokémon for Community Day is Cyndaquil!
Meet up at the entrance to the Man o'War Steps (there's a pokestop!) between the Opera House and the Queen Elizabeth II gate of the Royal Botanic Gardens (RBG) (coordinates: -33.858213, 151.215580); for those with a Silph Road Travelers Card, you'll be able to check-in and pick up a new badge for your card. Handshake with new Travelers, make trades, and then head on into the RBG once the event starts to catch lots of shiny Cyndaquil!
Disclaimer: we as a community need to ensure that we respect the Royal Botanic Gardens and the other patrons of their grounds. Please refrain from congregating in the middle of pathways, and please keep off of the planting beds. Any sort of unseemly behaviour reflects poorly on all of us, and jeopardises our ability to use the Royal Botanic Gardens as a venue in the future.

SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 10TH
1:30 PM Begin arrival at Man o'War Steps if you want to exchange PoGo friend codes, trade, or get a badge for your Travelers Card! Early arrival will mean less of a hassle with crowds later on!
Come visit the Silph Road and Pokemon GO Sydney staff (Ranger Lizardman8891, Ranger bluejet, Guide DrAstro, & Myrtlemiris) to pick up the Shiny Typhlosion Badge for your Silph Road Traveler card. Myrtlemiris will be handing out stickers to match if you handshake, check-in, or show proof of check-in with another staff member with her. Numbers of stickers are limited so it's first come, first serve basis.
After check-in, feel free to stick around to meet some other Silph Road Travelers and handshake with them, or you can start venturing into the Royal Botanic Garden (RBG).
For anyone who missed the check-in window, head into the RBG and follow the route in the image below. This is the route check-in members will usually be walking. If you're unable to find them, send them a message in Discord and they'll let you know where they are so they can check you in.
2 PM Event goes live!
5 PM Event finishes (Unless we experience a repeat of Dratini and Larvitar Community Days)
5:20 PM Group photo time. Feel free to stick around to be in the group photo taking place at the Opera House steps! Updates will be pushed to the Pokémon GO Sydney Discord if the event is extended, etc.
The Silph Road is a community of like-minded Pokémon GO players that joined together to promote friendship and research around the globe. One aspect is meeting other players through a personalised Travelers Card, which is a snapshot of your in-game profile. You're able to collect badges for special events, and can handshake with other Travelers to grow your network. Soon, there will be a feature based around this to facilitate trades around the world. It's free to join, so head over to the Silph Road website to create your profile, and handshake with one of the Silph Road Staff to receive your badge!

Also be sure to come join us on the official Silph Road Discord for Australasia!
Be sure to join us on Discord! You can find us on the Silph Road League Map, which includes some additional info like the number of past Silph Road check-ins, or you can find us through this direct invite. Also, be sure to check out the Discord group for the Silph Road - Australasia!
