Tim Goodman gave up his dream of being a PokÃmon trainer following the death of his mother and his estrangement from his father Harry, a police detective. He is contacted by the police of Ryme City, where humans and PokÃmon live together in harmony and PokÃmon battles are illegal. He is informed by Harry's friend, Detective Hideo Yoshida, that Harry was killed in a car accident. Tim goes to Harry's apartment to sort things out and meets Harry's police partner, a deerstalker-clad amnesiac Pikachu, whom only Tim can understand. Tim accidentally releases a mysterious purple gas known as "R" from a vial he finds in Harry's office; they are then attacked by a party of Aipom[c] who became rabid under the gas's influence.

Mewtwo explains that Harry had tried to save him from Howard and helped him escape, but was attacked by the Greninja. Mewtwo had decided to heal Harry's wounded body while Pikachu had volunteered to have himself fuse his consciousness with Harry's to continue their investigation, the experience erasing both their memories. Mewtwo separates the two and Tim reunites with Harry in his human body. Tim decides to stay in Ryme City to become a detective and spend more time with his father and Pikachu.

Pokemon Detective Pikachu(2019)

On March 15, 2019, it was revealed that Legendary will release a graphic novel based on the film.[60]Niantic Labs promoted the film through the PokÃmon Go app, by featuring, among other things, select PokÃmon from the movie appear in the game, including a limited edition "detective" version of Pikachu.[61] The PokÃmon Company released a series of trading cards featuring images from the film, including a limited edition Detective Pikachu card only available the first weekend of the film's release. Along with TCG booster pack sets, they produced a limited edition Detective Pikachu Cafe Figure Collection bundle.[62][63] A set of 6 Detective Pikachu toys were also sold at Burger King.[64] Wicked Cool Toys, the current toy partner for the franchise, released figures and plush toys for retail as well.[65]

Parents need to know that PokÃmon Detective Pikachu is a mystery adventure set in a fictional city in which humans and PokÃmon co-exist. Starring Ryan Reynolds as the voice of a Pikachu who can speak to only one human, Tim (Justice Smith), the story explores how the two team up to investigate the supposedly accidental death of Tim's detective father. There's definitely some violence: PokÃmon battle both each other and humans, and there's destruction (including a fatal car crash) and injuries, but nothing gets bloody or graphic. Main characters are frequently in peril, but -- despite some close calls -- no one dies. Language is limited to "hell," "stupid," and "good God," and there's nothing more risque than flirting and a couple of double-meaning jokes (when Pikachu sees a shirtless man, he quips that all he can see is "tattoos and nipples"). The story promotes teamwork, courage, and friendship and shows how even the seemingly inexperienced can make a difference.

POKÃMON DETECTIVE PIKACHU starts with a powerful PokÃmon setting fire to a lab and then causing a fatal car accident in Ryme City, a place where the creatures and humans live side by side without battles or trainers. In another city, 21-year-old Tim (Justice Smith) finds out that his estranged father, Harry, a renowned police detective, was killed in the accident, so he travels to Ryme City to collect his father's effects. While staying in his father's apartment, Tim discovers that his father's Pikachu (voiced by Ryan Reynolds) partner -- previously believed dead -- is alive, but without any memories. Even more worrisome? Tim can understand when the Pikachu speaks, while everyone else still hears the typical (and adorable) "Pika Pika." The duo also discovers that a vial of gas found in Harry's place can temporarily turn PokÃmon into unhinged rage monsters. Together with help from Lucy (Kathryn Newton), a budding reporter who wants to look into the poisonous gas and what happened the night of the accident, Tim and Pikachu track down Harry's sources around Ryme City, hoping to find answers, wherever they might lead.

Synopsis: Ryan Reynolds stars in the first-ever live-action Pokemon adventure as Pikachu, the iconic face of the global Pokemon phenomenon-one of the world's most popular, multi-generation entertainment properties and the most successful media franchise of all time. The story begins when ace detective Harry Goodman goes mysteriously missing, prompting his 21-year-old son Tim (Justice Smith) to find out what happened. Aiding in the investigation is Harry's former Pokemon partner, Detective Pikachu (Ryan Reynolds): a hilariously wise-cracking, adorable super-sleuth who is a puzzlement even to himself. Finding that they are uniquely equipped to work together, as Tim is the only human who can talk with Pikachu, they join forces on a thrilling adventure to unravel the tangled mystery. Chasing clues together through the neon-lit streets of Ryme City-a sprawling, modern metropolis where humans and Pokemon live side by side in a hyper-realistic live-action world-they encounter a diverse cast of Pokemon characters and uncover a shocking plot that could destroy this peaceful co-existence and threaten the whole Pokemon universe.

Ryan Erzahler was a new detective at the RCPD. What made him unique in the city where humans and pokemons lived in harmony was that he didn't have a Pokemon, which offered him weird stares, like, everywhere to be honest. While learning to live in Ryme City with his newly reunited father, he didn't need this ridiculously tall brunet to just burst into his private space asking for help about something like... A swarm of bears ?
