Point Boston East Bay Community

Point Boston East Bay Community

South Australia

About Us

The Point Boston Peninsula is a community development spanning more than 750 hectares of natural peninsula, located approximately 18 kilometres from Port Lincoln, South Australia. It is ideally suited for weekend getaways or as a place to live and enjoy a relaxed coastal lifestyle.

A Scheme Description and By-Laws protect the integrity of the development and help preserve the peninsula’s natural heritage. The Community Corporation currently comprises 207 lot holders, with capacity for up to 247 dwellings within the East Bay precinct. Collectively, lot holders own approximately 650 hectares of land, the majority of which is retained as native bushland.

The Corporation operates its own scalable, environmentally friendly wastewater treatment system, incorporating large underground sand filters and utilising plant transpiration to safely dispose of treated wastewater and nutrients. All lots have underground SA Power Networks and SA Water services available for connection. Rainwater tanks are required to be the primary source of drinking water, with a supplementary mains connection provided as a backup. The objective is for the community to be partially independent of the mains drinking water system.

A Community Corporation Committee, formed by lot holders, is responsible for the management of common property, including land and infrastructure, and for ensuring that the Scheme Description and By-Laws are upheld.
