The Shropshire 3 Peaks Challenge
One of our latest collaborations with tourism organisation 'Visit Shropshire' who were looking to create three brand new family-friendly circular walks in the county.
The walks cover three notable peaks in the county: Stiperstones, Brown Clee Hill and Clun Black Hill. Each walk has been designed with ease of parking, access to nearby facilities (where possible) and a simple but clear route in mind and each are around 4-5 miles in length with 'shortcut' options or additional sections to help you tailor the walking experience that's right for you or your family.
As ever, each walk also features a bespoke illustration and some supporting information highlighting a feature seen on the walk as well as a free .GPX version of the route should you wish to load it into your favourite nav software such as the O/S app or Viewranger. These walks are the first to incorporate our new interactive features too which allow users on data-enabled devices (phones etc) to click on key elements within the maps to find out more information if there's coverage.
“Point2 Guides’ 3 new interactive Shropshire walking routes commissioned for us have resulted in an extremely high uptake from both visitors and locals. The route sheets allowed walkers of all abilities to develop their Shropshire walking knowledge. We would highly recommend Point2 Guides and look forward to developing further routes with them in the future..”

Worcestershire Rail Trails
This project has been a fantastic one to work on and has used some of the 'template' ideas developed for Point 2 Guides but applied in a different manner alongside more specific related information.
The core idea of the Worcestershire Rail Trails project has been to develop new walking routes and linked guide materials to work alongside the rail network in Worcestershire UK. The idea is that walkers can start at one of the stations and walk as much or as little as they wish between stations and then hop back to your start point again on the train. In this way you can do just part of a day’s walk or even a multi-day or long distance walk should you wish.
The core project will be largely completed in Spring 2024 and it’ll then have created 100 miles of new routes alongside the county’s railways. The guide materials developed are free-to-download interactive .pdf files which you can print to A4 or view and explore on your smartphone (with ‘live helper links’ to train times etc). While the maps show stage by stage walking topography and directions they also still cover local places of interest or local flora or fauna and (as a nod to Mr Wainwright) utilise linked line illustrations too. For those who prefer to use these materials alongside their favourite walking apps on phones there’s also a downloadable .GPX file per sheet too.
