Robotic Process Automation Implementation within a Semiconductor Manufacturing Company

Abstract

To reduce human resources in trivial and repetitive work, it comes up with a method that used Robotic Process Automation (RPA), which is an emerging form of business process automation technology based on the notion of software robots or artificial intelligence workers, to achieve automatically remote-control equipment. It is expected that applying this method to the factory can achieve the goal of unmanned factory. More broadly, RPA is a critical innovation within Industry 4.0, or the fourth industrial revolution that blurs the line between the digital and the physical. RPA can help enable manufacturers to improve productivity, meet customers’ expectations and consistently drive product innovation—all while lowering costs. This thesis I mainly used the knowledge which I learnt from TIE 4203 Decision Analysis in industrial and TIE 4240 Project management. Decision analysis is a form of decision – making. Ethical decision that involves identifying and assessing all aspects of a decision, and taking actions based on the decision that produces the most favorable outcome. It is a systematic, quantitative, and visual approach to addressing and evaluating the important choices that businesses sometimes face. The idea is used by large and small corporations alike when making various types of decisions, including management, operations, marketing, capital investments, or strategic choices. I mainly using the AHP modeling the analysis and make the best decision of my multiple alternatives. Project management is the process of leading the work of a team to achieve goals and meet success criteria at a specified time. The primary challenge of project management is to achieve all of the project goals within the given constraints. I have used the Gantt Chart diagram to find the project period and also found the critical path to ensure no delay for the whole project, also doing some risky analysis of the project to ensure the project more efficiency.
