Developing an e-Business Implementation Strategy for Service Industry

Abstract

Electronic business is more than just another way to sustain or enhance existing business practices. Rather, e‐business is a paradigm shift. The uptake of e-business is influenced by its potential to create business value and awareness of the potential benefits to its participants

Businesses cannot escape from the use of internet and technology in today's world. It is not only important for marketing the company's product, but it also provides the company opportunities to market themselves in untapped areas, connect with their customers, manage their operations effectively, and increase their global reach.

The internal transactions in the service industry mainly relate to procurement, logistics, supply chain management, payments, stock control and order tracking that need to be thoroughly understood and altered. With the increasing number of challenges, e-business strategies have become an important need of the hour for many organizations that look forward to reaping higher returns and reaching a wider audience.

Varied organizations have adopted the suggested processes in different levels of intensity. In this paper, secondary data of different theories providing evidence regarding practices of e-business in various areas. This research also emphasize different phases of strategic planning and implementation required for incorporating e-business strategy in the business model of company.

Along with coping with the growing demand of e-business, it is important to not lose sight of the green and sustainable practices required for conducting a business.
