Management of Risk in Cold Chain for Biologic

Abstract

In this project, three major concerns with regard to the cold chain has been addressed and resolved through the use of knowledge, software and understanding of Industrial System Engineering tools. The first concern is the Packing Optimization problem which could be resolved by developing the Mixed Integer Programming model. In addition, an Excel Solver tool is used to get the tabulated results. The second concern is choosing a company to use as a courier service. In our case World Courier, FedEx and DHL are compared and selected by using tools such as AHP, Expert Choice and DPL cycle. Last concern is estimating the probability of cost incurring due to damage goods in shipment.
