Poet biographies

Are poets more interesting than other human beings? Do they lead more interesting lives? Probably not, though there are, of course, exceptions.

At all events, it's an interesting study. What, in fact, makes a poet? Is it a good thing to be? Or should we say, is it a good career to pursue?

And then there's the question as to what exactly it is, poetry.

Probably the easiest way to attack the problem (if indeed it is a problem) is to study a few cases, and give a few examples of poetry at different times. One interesting approach is to look at how poets at different times look at the same subject. Then there's the question of how the poetry relates to the life of the poet, and society at large. It's an interesting learning experience at all events.
