Contributing Data

Data guidelines for contributions are at:

You can also upload using an HTTP Post command, by going into your organization record:

https://pod.stanford.edu/organizations

clicking the "Upload file" button and following the onscreen instructions.

Some questions that have come up about data files:

* When contributing a full set of records, POD doesn't care how many files the records are divided into. We are aware that some ILSes limit file sizes to as few as 10,000 records. If it's easiest for you to contribute many small files instead of one or a few large ones, that's no problem.

* POD cannot currently process .tar files.

* POD has no preference between binary MARC and MARCXML. When contributing MARCXML, please make sure it contains a namespace and a declaration, as described here:

Some of you have asked about contributing files of deltas (records updated since your last full contribution) and deletes. These will be very important to the project, and we're almost ready to start receiving them. For deletes, the format will be very simple, and is described at:
