Pokit Technologies Private Limited ("we", "our", or "us") built the Pocket Writer app as a platform to empower creators to express themselves through written content, aided by AI. This Privacy Policy describes how your information is collected, used, and shared when you use our Android mobile application ("App").
By using Pocket Writer, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our services:
a. Personal Information
Name – provided by the user or retrieved from Google account
Email Address – collected during sign-in using Google Authentication
Phone Number – used for account verification via mobile number
Photos and Media – only when uploaded by the user through gallery access
b. Device & Usage Information
Device Information – such as device model, OS version
App Usage Data – anonymized usage patterns to improve app performance
Information like Email and Name is fetched during Google Sign-In.
Phone numbers and media files are manually provided by the user during signup or content creation.
No data is collected when the app is running in the background.
The app requests access to the following permission:
Storage/Gallery: To allow users to upload images into their content. This is essential for core functionality.
We use the collected data to:
Authenticate users and manage accounts
Enable AI-assisted content creation and publishing
Improve app functionality and user experience
Provide customer support
We do not use your data for advertising or marketing purposes.
Your data is stored on secure third-party cloud services, primarily Firebase.
Data is retained until the user deletes their account.
While we take reasonable steps to secure your information, data is not encrypted at rest or during transmission at this time.
We use the following third-party services which may collect information as per their own privacy policies:
Firebase (for Authentication, Realtime Database, and Crashlytics)
We do not use any ad networks.
Pocket Writer is accessible to users under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children under 13 without parental consent, as per applicable laws. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at official@pocketwriter.in and we will take steps to delete such information.
We recommend that parents and guardians monitor their children's use of the app and help them understand privacy and data safety.

Currently, there is no option to opt out of app analytics or tracking.
This app is available globally and does not specifically target users in regions with data protection laws like GDPR or CCPA. However, we are committed to respecting user privacy and improving our compliance over time.
We may update our Privacy Policy to reflect new features or regulatory requirements. Users will be notified of updates within the app upon launch after a change has been made.
Pocket Writer may communicate with users through WhatsApp to provide important updates, notifications, and support related to the platform.
After signing up for Pocket Writer, users will be presented with a consent pop-up screen requesting permission to receive WhatsApp communications. Users must explicitly provide consent by selecting a checkbox and agreeing to the following statement:
“I consent to receive WhatsApp messages from Pocket Writer.”
Providing this consent is required in order to continue using certain services of the platform.
The time of consent will be securely recorded by the system, which helps us track the applicable version of the Privacy Policy under which the consent was given.
The phone number provided during signup or verification may be used by Pokit Technologies Private Limited and the Pocket Writer team to communicate with users.
This phone number may be used for the following communication channels:
WhatsApp messages
SMS notifications
Phone calls related to support or important account matters
The phone number will not be sold, rented, or shared with any third-party platforms for their marketing purposes.
Users who provide consent may receive communications including but not limited to:
Platform updates

Important account notifications
Product tips and usage guidance
Community announcements
Feedback requests
Marketing and promotional updates
Customer support responses
These communications may include both transactional messages and marketing messages.
Pocket Writer may use WhatsApp Business tools, including but not limited to:
WhatsApp Business App
WhatsApp Business API
WhatsApp Cloud API
to send and manage communications with users.
These services are operated by WhatsApp (Meta Platforms Inc.) and may process certain information in accordance with their own privacy policies.
Users may also initiate communication with Pocket Writer through WhatsApp for support, assistance, or queries. In such cases, the Pocket Writer team may respond through the same channel.
Users may opt out of WhatsApp communication at any time by replying with:
STOP
to any message received from Pocket Writer on WhatsApp.
Once an opt-out request is received, users will no longer receive further WhatsApp marketing communications from Pocket Writer unless consent is provided again.
Pocket Writer takes reasonable measures to protect user contact information and ensure that phone numbers are used only for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Phone numbers used for WhatsApp communication will never be shared with unrelated third-party platforms.
