Effective Date: July 31, 2026
Last Updated: July 31, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Pocket Expense Tracker (“the App,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) handles information when you use the application.
Pocket Expense Tracker is designed as an offline personal-finance application. We respect your privacy and aim to keep your financial information under your control.
1. Information We Collect
Pocket Expense Tracker does not require you to create an online account.
The App does not directly collect, upload, or transmit your personal financial information to the developer or to a developer-operated server.
Information entered or created by you may include:
Income and expense transactions
Transaction titles and notes
Financial amounts
Categories
Payment methods or account names
Transaction dates and times
Budgets and financial summaries
Locally attached receipt images
Currency and application preferences
Recurring transaction settings
Locally created backup files
PIN and biometric-lock preferences
This information is used only to provide the App’s personal expense-tracking features.
2. Local Data Storage
Your financial records and application preferences are stored locally on your device.
Pocket Expense Tracker does not operate a cloud database and does not automatically upload your financial records to the developer.
Data may remain on your device until you:
Delete individual records
Reset the App’s data
Clear the App’s storage through device settings
Uninstall the App
Replace existing data during a backup restoration
You are responsible for maintaining local backups when needed.
3. How Your Information Is Used
Information entered into the App is used to provide features such as:
Recording income and expenses
Organizing transactions into categories
Calculating balances and financial summaries
Producing daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, and custom reports
Displaying spending charts
Creating PDF reports
Creating Excel files
Processing recurring transactions
Creating and restoring local backups
Protecting access through a PIN or device biometrics
Displaying local reminders and notifications
We do not use your financial information for advertising, profiling, marketing, or selling products.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
Pocket Expense Tracker does not automatically sell, rent, disclose, or share your personal financial data with the developer, advertisers, data brokers, or other third parties.
The App includes optional export and sharing features. When you choose to export or share a PDF, Excel file, backup file, receipt, or other information, the data may be transferred to an application, service, person, or storage location selected by you.
For example, you may choose to share an exported file through:
Email
Messaging applications
Cloud-storage applications
File-management applications
Bluetooth or nearby-sharing services
Other applications installed on your device
Any third-party application or service selected by you processes the shared information according to its own privacy policy. Pocket Expense Tracker does not control how those third parties handle information after you voluntarily share it.
5. PDF, Excel, and Backup Files
The App may allow you to create:
PDF financial reports
Excel transaction files
JSON or similar backup files
Locally saved receipt images
These files are created only when you request the relevant action.
You control where the files are stored and with whom they are shared. Exported files may contain sensitive financial information. You should store and share them carefully.
Deleting data from the App may not delete copies that you previously exported, shared, or saved elsewhere.
6. Receipt Images and Device Files
When you voluntarily select or attach a receipt image, the App may access the selected image or file to associate it with a transaction.
The App does not automatically upload receipt images to the developer.
Access is limited to the functionality you request. Depending on your Android version and device configuration, the operating system may display a file or media picker that allows you to choose specific files.
Receipt images remain on your device unless you deliberately export, back up, or share them.
7. PIN Protection
The App may allow you to protect access using a PIN.
The PIN should not be stored as readable plain text. A protected representation of the PIN may be stored using secure device storage so the App can verify future unlock attempts.
The developer cannot view, recover, or reset your PIN remotely because the App does not use a developer-operated account or server.
If you forget your PIN, you may need to clear the App’s data or reinstall it. This may permanently delete locally stored financial information unless you created a backup.
8. Biometric Authentication
The App may offer optional fingerprint, face, or other biometric authentication when supported by your device.
Biometric verification is performed by the Android operating system or device security system. Pocket Expense Tracker does not receive, collect, view, or store your fingerprint, facial image, or biometric template.
The App receives only an authentication result indicating whether verification succeeded or failed.
Availability and operation of biometric authentication depend on your device and operating-system settings.
9. Local Notifications
The App may use local notifications for reminders, recurring transactions, or other features selected by you.
These notifications are generated and scheduled on your device. The App does not use remote push-notification servers to send your financial information.
You may disable notification permission through the App or your device settings.
10. Permissions
Depending on the features you use and your Android version, the App may request limited permissions or system access for:
Displaying local notifications
Selecting receipt images
Selecting backup files
Saving exported files
Sharing files
Using biometric authentication
Permissions are used only to provide the related functionality.
You may deny or revoke permissions through your device settings. Some optional features may not work without the required permission, but basic offline transaction tracking should remain available.
11. Internet Access
Pocket Expense Tracker is designed to perform its core financial-tracking functions offline.
The App does not require an online account or developer-operated server for its core functionality.
A third-party application selected by you for sharing, cloud storage, email, or another external action may use the internet independently. That activity is governed by the third party’s own privacy policy.
12. Advertising and Analytics
Pocket Expense Tracker does not intentionally include:
Advertising services
Behavioural advertising
Developer-operated analytics
User-tracking services
Data-broker integrations
Sale of personal information
This statement applies to the version of the App covered by this Privacy Policy. This policy will be updated if the App’s data practices change.
13. Third-Party Software Components
The App may use third-party software libraries to provide functions such as:
Local database storage
Charts
PDF generation
Excel generation
File selection
File sharing
Secure storage
Biometric authentication
Local notifications
These components are used to provide App functionality.
The App’s developer must review the final production dependencies and ensure that the declarations in this Privacy Policy and the Google Play Data Safety section remain accurate.
14. Data Security
We use reasonable application-level and device-supported measures intended to protect information stored by the App. These measures may include:
Local application storage
Secure storage for security-related values
PIN verification
Optional biometric authentication
Validation of imported backup files
User confirmation before destructive actions
However, no storage method or security measure is completely secure.
The security of your information may also depend on:
Your device password or screen lock
Your Android security updates
The physical security of your device
The security of applications with which you share exported files
The storage location you select for backups and exports
You should protect your device and avoid sharing sensitive files with unauthorized persons.
15. Data Retention and Deletion
Financial information is generally retained locally until you delete it or remove the App’s data.
You can delete information by:
Deleting individual transactions
Deleting eligible custom categories or accounts
Using the App’s reset or delete-data option
Clearing the App’s storage in Android settings
Uninstalling the App
Because the developer does not receive your locally stored financial records, the developer cannot remotely access or delete those records for you.
Files previously exported or shared must be deleted separately from the locations or third-party services where you saved them.
Clearing App data or uninstalling the App may permanently remove your locally stored information. Create a backup before doing so when you want to preserve your records.
16. Data Backup and Restoration
The App may allow you to create a local backup file and restore data from a compatible backup.
Backup files may contain sensitive financial information. You are responsible for:
Storing backups securely
Controlling access to backup files
Avoiding sharing backups with unauthorized persons
Deleting obsolete backup copies
Verifying the destination before sharing a backup
Backup files are not automatically uploaded to the developer.
For security reasons, PIN hashes, biometric information, or other sensitive device-security secrets may be excluded from ordinary backup files.
17. Children’s Privacy
Pocket Expense Tracker is a general personal-finance utility and is not specifically designed or directed toward children.
The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children through a developer-operated server.
Parents or guardians should supervise a child’s use of financial applications and device-sharing features where appropriate.
18. Financial Disclaimer
Pocket Expense Tracker is a personal record-keeping and budgeting utility.
The App does not provide:
Financial advice
Investment advice
Tax advice
Accounting advice
Banking services
Credit services
Money-transfer services
Reports and calculations depend on information entered by the user. Users should independently verify important financial information and consult an appropriately qualified professional when necessary.
19. Changes to This Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when:
App features change
Data-handling practices change
Third-party software components change
Legal or Google Play requirements change
Any updated version will be published on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
Continued use of the App after an update means the updated Privacy Policy applies to your use of the relevant App version.
