The first official Pocket City 2 city competition has concluded! Many excellent cities were submitted, thank you to everyone who participated. Selecting the final winners was a very hard decision and all entries were very impressive. Congratulations to the winners! These below cities will be included as future competitive cities in the game.

Dream City impresses with well crafted design, strategically positioned landmarks, and thoughtfully arranged buildings. Its symmetry and layout helps it to stand out and creates a city that is both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional.

An exquisitely designed city boasting distinct districts seamlessly intertwined, all against the picturesque backdrop of a waterfront. The zones are wonderfully organized and consistent, plus landmarks add variety in carefully placed locations. The choice of combinations for buildings, roads, and terrain create lovely areas to explore.

Citizens explore diverse landmarks and charming blocks in this city, accompanied by a delightful boardwalk. Pink trees drawn throughout the landscape add organization and beauty. And for those self-indulgent mayors, reward yourself with the opulence of a luxurious estate ;)

An intriguing city that draws the player in to explore its nooks and crannies, featuring unique designs amd layouts that keep the city interesting. Citizens can even try their luck in a giant bamboo maze around the mountain!

Use the Upload option in the settings section of the game (top right gear icon during gameplay). A code will be shown, and you can use the code to download that city onto any other device. This also works when moving from the free to paid Android app.

Upkeep increases as the number of zones increases. It is the maintenance cost of the zones in your city. The player must maintain an income that is higher than the upkeep in order to reach a positive cash flow! Ensure you are building the right zone types at the right time so that useless zones are not created.

Currently, using Emojis or punctuation in your city name may cause the city upload to fail. Please use a name that contains only alphanumeric characters if they need to be uploaded. Also, an offline device cannot upload cities.

The City of Salisbury is proud to announce the passing of legislation allowing for Pocket Pollinator Meadows in yards within city limits. Monday night City Council voted to pass the ordinance, officially amending City property maintenance code to allow for well-maintained Pocket Pollinator Meadows.

***Note: Many local criminal codes can now be located under Chapter 10.60 SMC while others are now cited under the Revised Code of Washington (RCW), which was incorporated into the municipal code in 2022. (See SMC 10.58.010). Code Enforcement, including Noise Control and Animal Regulations are located in Chapters 10.62 through 10.74.

Pocket bikes are defined in the City Code to match the State definition of the term. Pocket bikes are prohibited by the City Code on streets, bicycle paths, and sidewalks. In addition, City Code Section 1.10.088 provides in pertinent part: "No pocket bike or mini motorbike may be operated upon any sidewalk, pedestrian walkway, playground, or other area of any property owned or maintained by the city as a park or greenspace, including any access drives and parking lots in or adjacent thereto."

These provisions are consistent with State law. Transportation Code subchapter E, which regulates the use of motor assisted scooters, provides in Section 551.353 that subchapter E may not be construed to authorize the operation of a pocket bike or mini motorbike on any street, road, path set aside for bicycles, or sidewalk.

No person may operate a vehicle on or through any city park property except on roads, driveways, parking areas and other areas designated for vehicles; however, city personnel and agents may operate service vehicles in other areas while engaged in authorized activities. No pocket bike or minimotorbike may be operated upon any sidewalk, pedestrian walkway, playground, or other area of any property owned or maintained by the city as a park or greenspace, including any access drives and parking lots in or adjacent thereto. Pocket Neighborhood Codes

Pocket Neighborhoods are allowed to happen, or not, by the zoning codes that regulate development. Unfortunately, zoning regulations in many jurisdictions in America date back to the 1950s and 60s when suburban standards for single-family homes were the norm. Pocket neighborhoods may not fit these narrow prescriptions in a number of ways, making them difficult to develop.

Sometimes, a city may have a Planned Unit Development (PUD) code in place that may offer enough flexibility for a pocket neighborhood approach. And many towns and cites are writing new codes to accommodate a wider choice of housing options, including pocket neighborhoods.

Cottage Housing codes work well on small sites, but what if a site is larger, say 5-acres, or 20 acres? What about serving a variety of household types, not just small households in cottages? Ross Chapin Architects (RCA) has been developing site plans that have multiple pocket neighborhood clusters with smaller and larger homes, detached as well as attached, all linked within a larger pedestrian-oriented neighborhood. To enable these developments, RCA has written a model Pocket Neighborhood Community Development code.

Loose articles are not permitted on most rides. (This includes: hats, purses, cell phones, cameras, bags, personal electronics, pocket change, keys, etc.) Waist or fanny packs are not permitted on The GIANT Swing, Outlaw Run, PowderKeg, Thunderation or Wildfire. We recommend you leave valuables with a non-rider or secure them in a park locker, available for rent. Unsecured storage bins are available at most rides, however, Silver Dollar City cannot take responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged articles. Articles taken on Mystic River Falls, the American Plunge and RiverBlast will get very wet.

Property owners and/or occupants are responsible for clearing the city sidewalks adjacent to their homes or businesses and maintaining them free of snow and ice at all times. The city policy regarding snow removal can be found in the Municipal Code, Chapter 12.56.

Sidewalk Snow Removal Ordinance Enforcement. The city begins enforcement of the sidewalk snow removal policy 24 hours after the cessation of snowfall. Just be mindful, it is easier to shovel early and often, and that the goal of sidewalk snow removal is pedestrian safety.

When a sidewalk has not been cleared within the allotted time, the city may clear that sidewalk and bill the property owner for the associated costs. No advance warning of such clearings will be given.

Snow Cannot be Pushed or Blown to the Street. Know that depositing, spewing or placing snow and ice on any public property in the city, including sidewalks and streets adjacent to a home or business is prohibited under Ordinance 12.64.01. You may be fined.

\nThe City Pushed Snow Back Onto My Sidewalk. Windrowing, or pushing snow back onto sidewalks is often an unavoidable consequence of snow removal activities. Snow has to go somewhere. The amount of snow deposited is dependent on the magnitude of the snow event and an area's geography, street width, vehicular parking, and other conditions such as cul-de-sacs. Crews will attempt to minimize windrowing whenever conditions allow them to do so; however, windrowing is often unavoidable.

\nThe City will not clear sidewalks recovered by windrow. Property owners whose sidewalks become recovered as a result of windrowing, should attempt to make at least one pass through the middle of the sidewalk in order to provide sufficient surface for pedestrian traffic. In general the City will not cite property owners who have attempted to clear their sidewalk of snow and ice.

\nSidewalk Snow Removal Tips

The City's snow plan does not provide for clearing driveways or re-clearing sidewalks and driveways that may have been re-covered by windrow. Not only does this present private liability issues, but this is not a fiscally responsible use of available funds or resources.

\nTo minimize the impacts of windrowing or snow pushed into driveway approaches, residents removing snow from their driveway should consider creating a pocket for snow to go (facing the street) on the left side of the driveway and placing material removed from the driveway on the right side (facing the street). Taking this proactive measure can help further reduce the volume pushed into the approach. See image below. 006ab0faaa
