Privacy Policy for Pocket Beads

1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy applies to the Pocket Beads mobile application (the "App"). The App was built to serve as a personal Sadhna tracker, Japa counter, and spiritual habit-building tool. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it.
The most important thing you need to know is: Pocket Beads does not collect, transmit, share, or sell any of your personal data.
2. Data Collection and Storage
All data generated by your use of the App—including your chosen username, Japa counts, daily Sankalpa history, and app preferences (like Light/Dark mode)—is stored 100% locally on your device using Android's standard local storage databases (Room and SharedPreferences).
Because we do not use external cloud servers, we have no access to your data. If you uninstall the App or clear your device's data, your history will be permanently deleted.
3. App Permissions
To function properly, the App requests the following device permissions. We only use these permissions to provide core app features:
Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS & SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM): Used strictly to send you local daily reminders (e.g., an 8:00 AM daily inspiration and a 6:00 PM evening Japa reminder). These are scheduled entirely on your device, and no data is sent to us regarding when or if you open them.
Vibration (VIBRATE): Used to provide haptic feedback (a brief vibration) when you successfully chant 108 beads, so you do not have to look at your screen while chanting.
4. Third-Party Services
The App itself does not integrate any third-party tracking, analytics, or advertising software.
However, if you download the App through the Google Play Store, Google Play Services may collect standard, anonymized crash reports or device information according to their own privacy policies.
5. Children's Privacy
The App does not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. Since the App collects no data remotely, there is no risk of a child's data being transmitted to us.
6. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes to how the App handles data, we will notify you by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this policy and publishing the new policy on the relevant app store.
