To NORTH VIRGINIA

The Separatists saw it as their destiny, a holy pact with God, to travel to the New World. Although they knew of the risks, they were willing to place their trust in their God to give them the strength for the challenge.

Ultimately the Pilgrims chose to land north of Jamestown, but still technically in the Virginia Colony. Here is what Bradford said, "But at length ye conclusion was, to live as a distincte body by them selves, under ye generall Goverment of Virginia."
