I'm trying to print a pdf from Adobe Acrobat by clicking the kebab menu in the top right and the options available are Safe to PDF and All printers. When I click all printers > add printer, a window opens to use an enabled service. Brother Print Service Plugin is there but can't be selected and reads 'cannot add printers'.

I've gone to my phone's settings >connected devices>printing, and I see the two above mentioned print services say 'On'. Go into Brother, it searches for printers but never finds anything. Ditto for Default. How can I get the services to find the printer? Printer is on, not asleep, both printer and phone are on the same wireless network.

Having changed my printer, when using the plugin on my android phone to an Envy 5010 printer it only gives me a paper size option of Main ISO A4. How can I access different paper size options - presume it is a setting on the printer or within the plugin

Thanks Shlomi for your response. The plug in obviously recognises the paper size in thr tray and lists this. What I would like is to select the photo size and print that onto A4 paper. e.g. a 6x4 print of a photo onto an A4 sheet.

I'm trying to print from my Samsung Galaxy Tab S, SM-T805. Under Settings:Connections:Printing, I see the HP Print Service Plugin is Off, and clicking on the icon brings up a screen which tells me the service is disabled. There is no obvious way to enable it.

When I follow a link on the same screen to Download an app from PlayStore, the HP Print Service Plugin box is there, with a tick in a green box at btm right, but when I Open it, I merely see the option to Uninstall - not install or Update, so I assume the version I have is the latest one. I actually did Uninstall it, then Re-Install, but no change.

So, how do I enable it? Wifi is switched on, the printer is online.

Installation of the HP Print Service Plugin is refused with the accompanying message that a previous version of the app is installed already. No further information about the app is given. I cannot detect this app on my phone, and uninstalling the corresponding Samsung plugin does not alleviate the problem. So, how can I find the app giving rise to the problem - or otherwise circumvent this error?

Printing apps: Until now I have used HP ePrint. As this is no longer supported I wanted to switch to HP Smart, and this requires the HP Print Service Plugin. HP ePrint is working, HP Smart has never worked as I have not been able to install the plugin. Since HP Smart hasn't worked I suppose as per definition no software changes have been made.

Installing the HP Smart app has never been a problem. But if you attempt to print something using this app, it requires you to also install the HP Print Service Plugin (evidently because its services are needed). And on my phone installing the plugin is always refused with an error message indicating that an incompatible version of the plugin has already been installed by another user. And, as I have mentioned before, I have never installed the plugin and I am unable to locate it among my installed apps. I have attempted various measures, e.g. uninstalling the Samsung Print Service Plugin, which judging by its name ought to be performing a similar task. So at this point I'm a bit lost at how to proceed...

I recommend you uninstall HP Smart App and also the HP print services plugin. Then clear the cache on your phone (Refer to the user manual of your phone to clear the cache) and then first install the HP print services plugin and then install the HP Smart App and check whether you are able to print.

So, unless there is further territory which might be explored, I guess I'll have to settle for an unresolved case at this point. And I usually have the possibility of printing from my PC anyway, even though it would have been more satisfying to find a resolution for the phone as well...

Thank you for guiding me to the local HP store. Unfortunately these people are primarily interested in the hardware, which in my case would be the printer. However, the issue here is not the printer itself; e.g. the HP Smart app communicates with, and recognizes, the printer. This is purely a software problem, and I fear that it would take someone a bit familiar with the inner workings of the HP printing software for smartphones to sort it out. But thanks again for your kind guidance.

A: When you first select a printer, the Samsung Print Service Plugin communicates with the printer to retrieve its capabilities. During this time, you will not be able to change the print settings. If the print settings do not appear within about 10 seconds, press the Back button and try printing or sharing again. Busy networks or slow network connections can be a cause of this issue.

A: The Samsung Print Service Plugin does not support printing password protected PDF files. This is a security limitation to protect your file. Please use another app to open your file and save it without a password before printing. ff782bc1db
