If you want a wired, over-ear solution with extended battery life and high-fidelity stereo sound for long sessions, choose PLT HP; if you need a lightweight, wireless headset with active noise cancellation and a secure behind-the-ear fit for outdoor mobility, choose Hewlett HP Poly Voyager.
• PLT HP: Delivers robust 12-hour battery life and rich stereo audio via a reliable USB-C connection, but requires a physical cable that limits movement.
• Hewlett HP Poly Voyager: Offers true freedom with Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity and active noise cancellation in a compact design, though it sacrifices full-range stereo depth for mono clarity.
• Who is this for?: The PLT HP is the ideal pick for stationary work or focused listening where power and audio quality matter most, while the Hewlett HP Poly Voyager suits users who prioritize portability, hands-free calls, and blocking out ambient noise.
The PLT HP Blackwire 3325 is engineered for those who value consistency and a premium audio experience without worrying about constant recharging. With its 12-hour average battery life and a 12-hour charge time, this headset is built to last through multiple shifts or long days of entertainment. The 32-millimeter dynamic drivers paired with a frequency response ranging from 20Hz to 20,000Hz ensure that you hear every detail, making it an excellent choice for music lovers or anyone needing clear, immersive stereo sound. Its over-ear design wraps around the head, providing a secure fit that relies on passive sound isolation rather than electronic processing. This makes it particularly comfortable for adults who wear headphones for extended periods, as the plastic enclosure and nylon carrying case offer durability without adding unnecessary bulk.
This device shines when you are tethered to a desk or a specific location. The USB-C wired connectivity ensures zero latency and a stable connection, which is crucial for professional calls or gaming where dropouts are unacceptable. The inclusion of media controls and a remote controller allows for easy management of your audio stream without fumbling with your phone or computer. However, the requirement for a physical connection means you cannot walk away from your device without dragging the cable along. If you need to move around a workshop, a fishing boat, or a busy office floor frequently, the cord might feel like a constraint compared to truly wireless options.

Ultimately, the PLT HP is best for the user who prioritizes audio fidelity and battery endurance over wireless convenience. It is a solid, no-nonsense tool for adults who want "plug-and-play" reliability. If your workflow involves sitting down to listen, record, or call, and you want a device that can handle 12 hours of continuous use before needing a recharge, this is the model to consider. It is less suited for those who need to be constantly mobile or require the ability to block out loud environments electronically.
The Hewlett HP Poly Voyager Legend 50-M takes a different approach, focusing entirely on mobility and situational awareness. By utilizing Bluetooth 5.4 technology, this earset provides a wireless range of up to 98.4 feet, giving you the freedom to move around your space without being tethered to a single device. The compact design features an earbud shape that sits inside the ear combined with a behind-the-ear hook, ensuring it stays secure even during active movement. This form factor is particularly advantageous for outdoor activities or environments where you need to keep one ear partially open to hear surroundings, yet still want a dedicated audio source.
A standout feature here is the Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Unlike the PLT HP, which relies on physical isolation, the Voyager uses electronic processing to reduce background noise, creating a clearer environment for calls and media consumption. The balanced armature driver focuses on a frequency range of 300 Hz to 3,400 Hz, which is optimized for voice clarity rather than deep bass or high-fidelity music. This makes it a superior choice for communication-heavy tasks, such as taking calls while walking, working in a noisy shop, or managing logistics on a job site. The monaural output delivers a focused, clear signal perfect for conversations, though it lacks the immersive stereo separation found in the PLT HP.
However, this focus on voice and mobility comes with trade-offs. The item weight of 7.36 ounces is very light, but the smaller drivers mean you won't get the same cinematic experience for movies or music as you would with the larger 32mm drivers of the competitor. Additionally, the reliance on Bluetooth means you are subject to potential interference or pairing issues, whereas the wired connection of the PLT HP is inherently more stable. This product is designed for the user who needs to stay connected and heard clearly in challenging acoustic environments without the hassle of cables. It is the go-to solution for professionals or hobbyists who need their headset to be invisible until they need it, offering a sleek, black finish that blends into any setting.

After weighing the specifications and design philosophies, I would personally choose the Hewlett HP Poly Voyager for my own setup, especially if I were looking for best open ear earbuds for fishing. The ability to move freely with Bluetooth 5.4 and the security of the behind-the-ear fit are critical when you are handling gear or navigating uneven terrain. While the PLT HP offers superior stereo depth, the active noise cancellation and wireless freedom of the Voyager provide a safety and utility advantage that outweighs the loss of full-range audio for outdoor applications. It is the smarter choice for anyone who needs to stay alert to their surroundings while enjoying clear communication.
Yes, both models have unique strengths, but the Hewlett HP Poly Voyager is often considered the best on ear headphones for fishing due to its secure behind-the-ear fit and wireless range, allowing you to move freely without tangled cords.
Both devices offer control methods; the PLT HP features a remote controller for media control, while the Hewlett HP Poly Voyager utilizes voice control methods, making them suitable for users seeking the best touch control headphone for fishing scenarios where manual buttons are difficult to reach.
The PLT HP boasts a 12-hour average battery life and a 12-hour charge time, providing significant endurance for long sessions, whereas the Hewlett HP Poly Voyager prioritizes wireless connectivity over extended battery duration in its current configuration.
