Christina Savvatianou – Plektani Art
Art photography, painting, textile creations, creative writing
Artist by nature. A freelance art photographer since 1986 and a member of the Hellenic Photographic Society (EFE), I’ve participated in numerous competitions and exhibitions both in Greece and abroad, with several works receiving recognition.
For 16 years, I worked in advertising photography, but the call of artistic expression captured my heart, and I’ve devoted myself fully to it ever since.
A self-taught painter since childhood, I later pursued studies in art. In 2010, I discovered the creative power of crochet and textile art, adding another layer of expression to my work.
During the pandemic, I joined online exhibitions such as 100 Photos (Berlin) link and several shows organized by Dimitris Lazarou.
Since April 2019, I am a member of the Designers Group of AthensArt Organization – Greece, and member of the International Artworks Selection Committee of same Organization as a curator, curating the artworks that participate in various events of the Organization also participating with paintings and photographs of mine in Exhibitions and annual art publications of the organization since 2017.
In June 2021, four of my photography works were featured in the physical exhibition Dream On at Tsichritzis Art Foundation, Kifissia, Greece.
Since November 2021, I’ve been active in web3 showcasing my artworks as NFTs. I’m considered an emerging creator in the space and an engaged member of various NFT communities on Tezos blockchain, including Womenverse, Teztones, Skull Degen Club, The TTC, Tezos Artist Network, This is a Raid, TeiaArt. 23ArtCollective, Meta Musee, supporting and contributing to the growth of this evolving ecosystem, and embracing blockchain technology to expand both my skills and artistic reach.
I currently host three NFT collections on Tezos Objkt.com:
and various artworks on Teia.Art
I was honored to receive the Lovelace Scholarship through the Womenverse collective, allowing me to pursue web development studies via Udemy, skills I plan to reinvest into the web3/NFT community.
Social causes and activism hold a central place in my life and my art journey. In web3 I’ve participated in initiatives like #TezQuakeAid (supporting earthquake survivors) and #Tez4Pal (supporting children affected by the war in Palestine), as well as several charity events hosted on Objkt and Teia, including #ArtForArtists utilizing a Breadfond contract.
In May 2024, one of my AI-assisted pieces was exhibited in the Beeple event, and a motion photograph of mine was featured in the debut exhibition of Arcrush Gallery in Brussels. Another on of my photographs is included in the curated collection of Fakewhale Art Market on Objktcom.
Also exhibited artworks at first TEZCON event organized by TezTones in the Seattle NFT Museum on June 1st, 2024.
My dream is to further introduce NFT art to my country, helping more artists who struggle with everyday challenges find their place in this space of opportunity, creativity, and connection—the future of artistic expression.
I’ve participated in both physical and digital charity exhibitions through online photography communities. In 2007, as part of an activist environmental group for many years, I helped organize reforestation actions, educational events for children, and volunteered as a translator, making news more accessible for online radio broadcasts.
Each of my artworks is created with care, intention, and love.
Multidisciplinary Visual Artist | Photography | Digital Art | Textile Practice | Painting | Writing
Greece
Christina Savvatianou, who works under the name Plektani Art, is a multidisciplinary visual artist from Greece. Her creative journey spans photography, digital art, textile practice, painting, and writing. Christina's work is deeply centered around the themes of imperfection, emotion, social injustice, and the complexity of the human condition—finding beauty within chaos, fragmentation, and hardship. Her practice explores the hidden narratives of life, where light and darkness coexist, and where creativity becomes a form of resistance and transformation.
Christina’s abstract motion photography is among her most recognized forms of expression. Using intentional camera movement, slow shutter techniques, and an emotional presence that transcends technical perfection, her images are marked by a raw spontaneity and blur. This deliberate "unpolished" approach is both an aesthetic choice and an emotional response, reflecting post-calligraphic rhythm and light as both subject and gesture. Her works evoke feelings of melancholy, resistance, and resilience, offering a narrative that is intensely personal yet universally relatable.
Her style is influenced by a wide spectrum of artistic movements, including Neo-Expressionism, Abstract Expressionism, and Art Informel, as well as glitch aesthetics and the geometric disruptions found in Brutalism. In her digitally manipulated works, she often taps into cyberpunk-inspired visuals, juxtaposing bright, saturated colors with fragmented, dissolving forms of urban and natural landscapes—revealing beauty in deconstruction. These works serve not only as emotional mappings but as visual essays, telling stories of struggle, transformation, and survival in the face of adversity.
Christina's creative process is intuitive and emotionally led, rejecting rigid discipline in favor of a more organic, spontaneous approach. This results in works that are emotionally charged, and visually provocative, aiming to represent internal and collective states—grief, identity, resistance, and transformation. Her art does not seek to document reality as it is but rather to uncover what often goes unseen—the contradictions of life, the resilience born from hardship, and the emotional landscapes of human experience.
Her involvement in social movements and activism deeply informs her art. Christina has engaged in various community-based initiatives and is an active member of decentralized platforms like Teia, where she contributes to projects such as the Breadfond contract, which aims to support emerging and lesser-known artists. This practice is a reflection of her commitment to accessibility, equity, and solidarity—values that are at the core of her work. Christina believes in the power of art as a tool for social change and has used her platform to support various causes, including #TezQuakeAid (earthquake relief) and #Tez4Pal (aid for children affected by the war in Palestine).
Her art spans across both physical exhibitions and digital platforms, bridging the gap between traditional and contemporary mediums. Whether through her motion photography, textile abstractions, or multimedia writing, Christina’s work is defined by a consistency of intent: to transform the dark into something meaningful, to elevate diversity, and to give voice to inner worlds often overlooked.

Christina’s personal collection, Plektani Art, embodies her artistic philosophy of blending emotional depth with abstract visual expression. It is a testament to her exploration of the digital frontier and her unique perspective on life and art. Her NFT collections include:
These collections invite the viewer into a world where motion and stillness collide, where light becomes more than just a subject, but an emotion and an experience. They speak to the complexities of human existence, from joy to sorrow, resistance to transformation.
#TezQuakeAid: Supporting earthquake survivors.
#Tez4Pal: Supporting children affected by the war in Palestine.
#ArtForArtists: Supporting lesser-known and emerging artists through collective NFT projects.
Christina’s work in these initiatives highlights her commitment to community and collective support, especially within the decentralized art space, where solidarity and equity drive her engagement.
Christina’s goal is to continue bridging the worlds of traditional art and digital NFTs, offering a platform for emerging artists—particularly those facing economic challenges—to share their work in a decentralized environment. Through Plektani Art, Christina aims to transform the way art is perceived, distributed, and experienced, making it accessible to all and empowering the voices of artists who might otherwise be overlooked.
