ABOUT THE GAME
Activating the steam isn’t all that fun either, I kept dying because I was mere milliseconds too late in a painfully small reaction window, or the gate blocking the one side didn’t open all the way for whatever reason, or when my hand just wouldn’t latch on to the power source. One time even the level’s geometry got in my way and my hand kept getting caught up on a wall at the bounce pad side. All of this culminates in a FNaF-style boss that on paper should be fun, but is instead a miserable test of patience if you don’t have the reaction time in the nanoseconds.
Finally, the story and pacing’s just kinda bad in this one. Chapter 1 was a proof of concept so I can forgive it for its shortcomings, Chapter 2 had a clear narrative direction and stuck to it. In this chapter you’re guided along much like the previous but you’re not even given an attempt at an explanation for it. The new characters it introduces aren’t used too well either, with CatNap feeling like a vaguely alluded to threat that doesn’t actually try and interact with the player until the ending Boss Fight. Mommy Longlegs was a much more proactive thread and Catnap just doesn’t stack up to her. Also this is a nitpick but getting rid of trophies was a bit lame. They were fun, why get rid of them?
