What Is Going On?

Here it is July 17th, 2024 and things are starting to fall together so I figured it was time to start spending some time on this site. Currently the site is a total mess but atttention is coming soon! In the interim, I believe the obvious first question is...what is this all about?

In short, for the last several years I have spent many, many hours making (mostly) female shapes in Secondlife. Being a little OCD, I came to find myself spending way more time in making shapes as anatomically correct as I posibly could and to make them as close to identical as I could no matter which body was being worn.

That is not an easy task and I came to realize that beyond myself and perhaps a handful of close friends that saw me regularly, it was not appreciated as I had hoped. Rather than keep beating my head against a wall, a discussion with an old friend (Aedan) about new creative ventures lead to this.

Playa Vida is focused on beach type activities. I will keep making personal shapes when asked but I am turning my real focus to creating swimwear and beach oriented clothing. Aedan will pursue creating textures for boats surfboards. Where this leads with a focus on water sports is wide open and only the future will tell.

WaterSense by Playa Vida

The fist major project for Playa Vida is to establish a foundation for future products. WaterSense is this foundation for clothing (and possibly other items) that react to not only Linden Water but also to our line of products.

Our water prim detects all avatars entering it's volume and attempts to establish communication with any enabled, WaterSense items and provide notification about getting wet. Similarly, when the avatar exits the prim, the items are notified.

Setup of the prim is very simple. It is as easy as resizing the delivered prim to cover the area to be monitored, whether it be your pool, tub, shower or whatever. Nothing else needs to be done. If you wish to change the scan time or the communication channel that can be used by other products to remove the prim, a configuration notecard is provided.

Once you are happy with the position of the prim, use the edit tools to make it transparent. The prim should be set to phantom if it was somehow changed.

How the WaterSense enabled items worn by avatars react is controlled by that avatar.
