"Play with Fire" is credited to Nanker Phelge, a pseudonym used when tracks were composed by the entire band, even though lead singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards are the only Rolling Stones to appear on the track. The song was recorded late one night in January 1965 while the Stones were in Los Angeles recording with Phil Spector at the RCA Studios. Richards performed the song's acoustic guitar opening while Jagger handled vocals and tambourine (enhanced using an echo chamber). Spector played bass, and Jack Nitzsche provided the song's distinctive harpsichord arrangement and tamtams. The Stones left for a tour of Australia the following day.[2]

The song's lyrics talk of the singer's relationship with a high society girl, disparaging the lifestyle much in the same way that "19th Nervous Breakdown" would with a more up-tempo feel. The title derives from the saying "If you play with fire, you will get burned."

"Playing with Fire" is a song recorded by Romanian singer Paula Seling and Romanian-Norwegian performer Ovidiu Cernueanu for their 2010 collaborative album of the same name. It was released as a CD single in 2010 by TVR, TMC and AXR labels. Partly influenced by opera music, the track was written by Ovi and produced by Simen M. Eriksrud. The lyrics of "Playing with Fire" portray a fight between a male and a female, with a reviewer speculating that it revolved around arson, a crime of intentionally, deliberately and maliciously setting fire to buildings or other properties with the intent to cause damage.

The track represented Romania in the 2010 Eurovision Song Contest in Oslo, Norway after winning the pre-selection show Selecia Naional. Seling and Ovi's win sparked controversy after it was speculated that Eriksrud was one of the writers of "Playing with Fire", which was not permitted by the rules of the national selection as he is not of Romanian origin. The accusations were denied and it was later confirmed that Eriksrud only produced the track. In Oslo, the singers qualified for the Grand Final, where they finished third with 162 points. This remains Romania's best result in the contest alongside 2005's "Let Me Try" by Luminia Anghel and Sistem. Onstage, Seling and Ovi played a double piano wearing a black catsuit and black clothing, respectively, accompanied by four background vocalists.

"Playing with Fire" was produced by Norwegian record producer Simen M. Eriksrud, while lyrics were written by Romanian singer and songwriter Ovidiu Cernueanu.[4] The latter met singer Paula Seling at a native song festival, where they decided to team up and create a song to submit for the Eurovision Song Contest. This resulted in "Playing with Fire", whose lyrics revolve around a fight between a male and a female, which was also used as the concept for the song's accompanying music video.

The partly opera-influenced track contains a rhyme between the words 'fire' and 'desire', with an editor of The Guardian speculating that "Playing with Fire" discussed on arson, a crime of intentionally, deliberately and maliciously setting fire to buildings or other properties with the intent to cause damage.[3][5] The recording was solely released as an enhanced CD and CD single throughout 2010 by TVR, TMC and AXR labels.[4][6][7] In February 2010, a contest was launched to find the best remix of "Playing with Fire", with the winner's work to be promoted by Da Works Records and Warner Music Group in Europe.[8] The stems of the song were also made available through the iTunes Store under the title "Playing With Fire (Make Your Own Remix Kit)".[9]

The clip starts with Seling sitting on a couch, reading an Adevrul issue on what appears to be a tablet. Ovi, appearing in the room, throws himself "bored"[19] on a couch while Seling takes a cup of coffee in her hands. The way Ovi falls on the couch makes the latter spit her coffee on her dress, followed by both fighting by lip synching to the lyrics of the track.[19] The rest of the music video is set in a video game theme, with Seling and Ovi fighting against each other and embodying several characters such as pilots, urban guerrillas, dancers and robots.[18] The clip ends with Seling staring at the camera, having red irises. Interspersed scenes during the music video's main plot show the artists playing a glass piano, which Seling eventually breaks when hitting a high note. In another scene, both wear a glove with LED lights, created specifically for the clip.[16][19] The music video was positively received by fans, gathering over 72,000 views in three days of its release and various positive comments.[20]

Zavon commented: "It's been a while since our last release, but we've been working hard writing and recording songs for this third record for a long time behind the scenes, and are really looking forward to sharing the finished product with our fans. We are proud to have partnered with Chris Bianchi and Legend Recordings for this release and are looking forward to working with them and Ingrooves to bring these songs to our fans worldwide. It's definitely some of our strongest material, and I can't wait to get out in front of an audience and play it live."

i always envision a psychopath in vietnam with a combat flamethrower torching some trees in the jungle when i hear this song. i think it was from a 'hunter' episode. anyhow, some rich girl is using her aristocratic clout to push people around with her nose up in the air. but one tormented soul knows that he has seen horrors that she cannot even begin to fathom. to know the future, to see its paths stream out into the infinite. if she even dares to patronize this man, there will be hell to pay 'cause you're playing with fire.'

The song "Play With Fire" is a song about engaging in risky behavior and embracing life's dangers. The lyrics talk about getting a thrill out of the danger, the "smell of gasoline," the temptation to "light the match," and the joy of seeing "castles burn" and "ashes turn to dirt." The song also speaks of a "maverick" attitude, challenge of the status quo, and having an "unstoppable" and "legendary" spirit. The song also touches on the idea of justice, with its references to "digital justice." At the end of the song, it's clear that the singer has a fondness for engaging in dangerous behavior, reflected in the chorus that sings the line "I've always liked to play with fire".

It's only been about a couple of days

You must've gone and put a spell on me

I can't get you out from under my veins

Singin': Oh my lord, she'll be the death of me

I'm not the one to normally play the fool

So tell me brother, what's a man to do?

Half mad, half mad

Going crazy over you

Singin': Oh my God, if you're the fire, I'm the fuel

I gotta get out

This is what you get when you fall in love

No one ever said how good it hurts

I tried once but it's once too much

You end up getting burned

I'm like the gasoline, you light the match

Ain't no one else who can burn me like that

So I cross my heart, kill my desire

This is what you get when you play with fire e24fc04721
