This Privacy Notice explains how GLAD uses the personal data we collect from you when you use our main website, eg. GLADWORLD.NET or official GLAD pages on other sites, such as, site.google.com/view/gladworldcontest or digital platforms.
What data do we collect?
GLAD collects the following data:
Personal identification data you provide including your name, email address, phone number, postal address, function/position, organization, country of residence, and other relevant information depending on the context.

Register for events, subscribe to be a test candidate or make a purchase.
Voluntarily complete a survey or provide feedback on our message boards or via email.
Voluntarily complete a form.

How will we use your data?
In some circumstances, we make your data available outside GLAD, such as for:
Payment processing: We use third-party services, such as PayPal (USA), WeChat (China), Line/PC home (Aisa).
When GLAD processes your payment, it may send your data to, and use the resulting information from, credit reference agencies to prevent fraudulent purchases.
How do we store your data?
GLAD securely stores your data on cloud services used by GLAD. Your data will not be made available for general access nor sold to third parties. GLAD, however, assumes no responsibility for the security of this information.
Data you provide directly is typically kept until either (1) you unsubscribe from the service requested or until (2) three years after your last transaction. We store data about your activity on our websites for 11 months, after it is deleted. We keep data on email activity for 36 months after it is deleted.

GLAD’s Principles on Personal Data Protection and Privacy

GLAD is committed to processing personal data in a non-discriminatory manner.
GLAD defines ‘personal data’ as any information relating to an individual (data subject) who can be identified from that data, either directly or indirectly, by reference to this data, and which is processed by or on behalf of GLAD in carrying out its testing activities. GLAD uses the term ‘data processing’ to describe any operation or set of operations that are performed on any personal data or non-personal data, whether or not by automated means, including collection, storage, use, transfer, and erasure.
Principles
Fair and Legitimate Processing
GLAD processes personal data in a fair manner, in accordance with governing instruments, and based on any of the following:
Consent of the data subject
The best interests of the data subject, consistent with the principles of GLAD; or,
the governing instruments of GLAD.
Purpose Specification
Personal data will be processed for specified purposes, which are consistent with the principle of GLAD and take into account the balancing of relevant rights, freedoms, and interests. Personal data should not be processed in ways that are incompatible with such purposes.
Proportionality and Necessity
The processing of personal data will be relevant, limited, and adequate to what is necessary for the specified purposes of personal data processing.
Retention
Personal data will only be retained for the time that is necessary for the specified purposes.
Accuracy
Personal data will be updated, where necessary, to fulfill the specified purposes.
Confidentiality
Personal data will be processed with due regard for confidentiality.
Security
Appropriate organizational, administrative, physical, and technical safeguards and procedures will be implemented to protect the security of personal data, including against or from unauthorized or accidental access, damage, loss, or other risks presented by data processing.
Transparency
Processing of personal data will be carried out with transparency to the data subjects, as appropriate and whenever possible. Accountability
GLAD has adequate guidelines and mechanisms in place to adhere to these Principles.
The Executive Office is the focal point for data privacy issues, and provides advice to ensure that personal data is processed in accordance with these Principles.
