If you want a premium, noise-isolating headset for professional calls and focused work, choose Plantronics 78712-101; if you need affordable, bulk wired headphones for students or classrooms, choose Konohan 30.
There is no middle ground here because these two products serve entirely different worlds. One is a high-end communication tool designed for the office, while the other is a mass-market solution built for volume and education. Understanding this split is crucial before you even look at the features. You are not comparing two similar earbuds; you are deciding between a single unit that prioritizes clarity and comfort for long shifts versus a thirty-pack of durable, simple devices meant to be distributed widely. If your goal is finding the best wireless headset for gym sessions, neither product is actually the right fit, as both are wired solutions with limitations for intense physical activity. However, if you are looking for the best sweat resistant bluetooth headset for gym use, you will find that neither of these specific models offers the necessary waterproofing or wireless freedom. Instead, let's look at where they truly excel in their intended environments.
• Plantronics 78712-101: Strengths include an elegant satin finish, featherweight design, and active noise cancellation for crystal-clear conversations; the trade-off is its high price point and wired-only nature making it unsuitable for gym workouts.
• Konohan 30: Strengths lie in its massive value for money, offering 30 individually wrapped units with universal compatibility for schools and offices; the trade-off is basic audio quality and a lack of advanced features like noise isolation.
• Who it is for: The Plantronics pick is for customer service agents and professionals who need all-day comfort and clear audio. The Konohan pick is for educators, event planners, or anyone needing to outfit a room full of people on a budget.
The Plantronics 78712-101 EncorePRO 710 is engineered specifically for the demands of a busy call center or a professional office environment. Its primary strength lies in its ability to deliver luxury comfort without sacrificing performance. The headset utilizes featherweight materials combined with soft leatherette ear pads, which ensures that representatives can wear them for extended periods without the fatigue that plagues cheaper alternatives.

For the buyer, this means the device is built for focus. With a frequency response up to 6,800 Hz and active noise cancellation, it is designed to filter out background chatter so you can hear every word clearly. The slim, stylish design with an elegant satin finish makes it a piece of equipment that professionals are proud to wear. It also features a quick disconnect feature, allowing users to step away from their desk without unplugging or tangling cords. This is ideal for someone who needs to grab a coffee or attend to a colleague instantly.
However, you must skip this product if you are looking for something to take to the gym. While it is excellent for stationary work, it is a wired headset with no Bluetooth capability for wireless movement during exercise. Furthermore, the "Active Noise Cancellation" mentioned in the controls refers to managing the listening experience, but the over-ear design might trap heat during heavy exertion. If you are searching for the best earbuds for gym use, this heavy, wired over-ear design is the opposite of what you need. It is strictly a communication tool for the desk, not a fitness accessory.
In stark contrast, the Konohan 30 is a utilitarian powerhouse designed for distribution. This is a bulk pack of 30 wired on-ear headphones, each individually wrapped and ready for immediate use. The design philosophy here is simplicity and durability rather than audiophile-grade sound or premium materials. The headphones feature a slim, adjustable headband and soft foam ear cushions that minimize pressure on the ears, making them suitable for long study sessions or online classes. They are built to withstand the rigors of a classroom or library where hundreds of hands might handle them.
This product is perfect for teachers, librarians, or corporate trainers who need to equip a large group quickly. The universal 3.5mm jack ensures compatibility with almost any device, from old desktop computers to modern laptops and tablets. The cable length of approximately 4.92 feet gives students ample space to move around their desks without being tethered tightly to a single spot. Because they come in multi-color packaging, they add a splash of variety to learning environments, and their reusable nature means they are not disposable trash after a single use.
You should only consider this option if your primary goal is quantity and cost-efficiency. There is no active noise cancellation, and the audio driver type is standard dynamic, meaning you won't get the crisp, isolated sound of the Plantronics. The materials are ABS and PVC, which are functional but lack the premium feel of the satin-finished Plantronics. If you are looking for the best wireless headset for gym activities, this is also not the answer, as it is a wired device with no water resistance rating. It is purely for static environments like classrooms, exam centers, or waiting rooms.
• Best for Professional Clarity → Plantronics 78712-101: The active noise cancellation and superior microphone design make it the clear winner for business communications.
• Best for Bulk Needs → Konohan 30: If you need to outfit a room with 30 people, the Konohan pack is the only logical choice due to its sheer volume and individual wrapping.
• Best for All-Day Comfort → Plantronics 78712-101: The featherweight construction and leatherette pads are engineered specifically for continuous wear by professionals.
• Best for Classroom/Learning → Konohan 30: The adjustable headband and durable build make it ideal for students in school or library settings.
• Best for Mobility (Short distance) → Konohan 30: The 4.92-foot cable allows more movement than a typical desk setup, though both are wired.
• Best for Aesthetics → Plantronics 78712-101: The elegant satin finish and slim profile look like a premium office tool, whereas the Konohan is purely functional.
• Best for Budget/Value → Konohan 30: Providing 30 units for a fraction of the cost of a single Plantronics, it offers unmatched value for groups.
• Best for Fitness/Gym Use → Neither: As established, neither product is designed for the gym; both are wired and lack sweat resistance features.
I would buy the Plantronics 78712-101 if I were setting up a dedicated home office or call center station where audio quality and personal comfort are paramount. In my opinion, the investment in a single, high-performance unit pays off in reduced fatigue and better communication clarity. However, if I were buying for a school or training facility, I would immediately pivot to the Konohan 30 for its unbeatable value and ease of distribution. For anyone asking about the best wireless headset for gym use or the best sweat resistant bluetooth headset for gym activities, please note that neither of these options serves that purpose. They are both wired, stationary tools. The Plantronics remains the superior choice for individual professional use, while the Konohan rules the category of bulk educational supplies.
