What is Newgrounds?

Newgrounds is a small website that was created by a guy from Pennsylvania named Tom Fulp. Tom created a fanzine for the gaming console "Neo Geo" in 1991 called New Ground and was published through Prodigy. Tom Fulp created a website called New Ground Remix in 1995. It got significantly popular in the Summer of 1996 after he created his games Club-A-Seal and Assassin. He created a different website to host the sequels and named it New Ground Atomics. In 1998, he introduced a new game called Teletubby Funland. Later in the year, Inside Edition wanted to do a segment on his game Assassin and created a name for his online creations. This name was Newgrounds.

Newgrounds has helped build up creators' careers and without it, we wouldn't have games like Super Meat Boy, Binding of Isaac, Castle Crashers, Henry Stickmin, Among Us, and many more.

Newgrounds Headquarters currently resides in Glenside, Pennsylvania where Nightmare Cops and Friday Night Funkin' are currently being developed
