Interdisciplinary Monthly Seminars on New Research in Sustainable Development
To create an intellectual space to share and discuss creative, cutting-edge, goal-oriented research that draws from multiple fields and tackles global policy problems.
This is meant to expand from the economics-centered perspectives emerging from Columbia's Sustainable Development (SDEV) PhD program and be a home for interdisciplinary research that might not be fully appreciated or critiqued in more traditional disciplinary seminars.
1. Meet the first Wednesday of each month, 11 a.m.~12 p.m. ET.
SDEV students, SDEV alumni, SDEV faculty, and members of SDevers’ labs are welcome
Each meeting = 40 mins of content delivery and 20+ mins of discussion
Meeting links will be sent out to those registered about one week in advance
2. Gradually grow the constituencies present at these meetings
The meeting room will be extended by 30 minutes (either before or after) for a semi-structured community building space
