Plam Coin - AI Coin Identifier (hereinafter referred to as the "App", "we", "us", or "our") recognizes the importance of protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, and how that information is used and shared when you download, install, or use our mobile application. This Policy also outlines the choices you have regarding the control, collection, correction, and/or deletion of such information. By using our App and related services, you explicitly agree to this Privacy Policy and consent to our collection, processing, disclosure, and use of your information as described herein.
This Policy applies solely to information collected by us within the App and through email, text, or other electronic communications related to the App. It does not apply to information collected offline, through other applications or websites (including third-party websites accessible via the App), or by any third parties.

2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
A. Information You Voluntarily Provide
As a user of Plam Coin, we may collect information that you directly and voluntarily provide to us, including images of coins you upload for identification, feedback you submit, and responses to surveys.
Important Notice Regarding Images: We strongly advise you to only capture images of coins. Please ensure that no personally identifiable information (such as faces, identification cards, credit cards, or sensitive background objects) is captured in the photos you upload. If our system detects such sensitive information, we will automatically discard the image without processing.
B. Information Automatically Collected
When you use the App, we automatically collect certain technical and usage information, including but not limited to:
- Your device's Internet Protocol ("IP") address
- Hardware manufacturer, model, and screen size
- Operating system version and CPU model
- Unique device identifiers and Advertising identifiers (Google AAID, Apple IDFA)
- Mobile network information and installed applications
- Time spent on the App, frequency of using the coin identification feature, and usage statistics
- Device language, time zone, and identifiers associated with Cookies or similar technologies.
C. Payment and Subscription Information
If you choose to purchase a premium subscription or in-app items, your payment will be processed entirely by third-party application platforms (Apple App Store or Google Play Store). We do not collect, process, or store your credit card or billing information. We only receive a verification token and purchase history from the platform to grant you access to premium features.
3. LEGAL BASIS FOR PROCESSING
We process your information based on the following legal grounds:
- Your Consent: When you grant camera/storage permissions or consent to data collection.
- Legitimate Interests: To optimize our AI recognition models, improve app functionality, and conduct data analytics.
- Legal Compliance: Where required by applicable laws.
- Performance of a Contract: To provide you with the core coin identification services.
4. HOW WE USE THE COLLECTED INFORMATION
A. To Provide and Personalize Our Services: We use your data to process coin images, return identification results, and understand user preferences.
B. To Maintain and Improve Our Services: We measure App performance and ensure services function as intended (e.g., debugging).
C. To Develop New Features: We use your usage data to modify the App and develop new identification features.
D. AI Model Training: To continuously improve our coin recognition accuracy, we may use anonymized and aggregated coin images. Under no circumstances will any metadata (such as exact location data attached to the photo) or personally identifiable background information be used for AI training. You can opt-out of having your anonymized images used for training by contacting us.
5. DATA SHARING AND "SALE" OF DATA
We share certain information with third-party advertising partners to deliver personalized advertisements. Under certain state privacy laws, this sharing of data for targeted advertising may be considered a "sale," even if no money is exchanged.
Categories of Information Shared: Device Identifiers, Advertising IDs, IP address, coarse location data, and App usage patterns.
Third Parties We Share With: Our advertising partners include, but are not limited to, Google AdMob, DoubleClick, Facebook Audience Network, MoPub, Amazon, Fyber, Smaato, and Baidu.
We DO NOT sell traditional personal identifiable information (PII) such as your name or direct contact details. We DO NOT sell the coin photos you capture to third parties for commercial purposes.
6. DATA RETENTION
We retain your information only for as long as necessary to provide our services:
- Coin Images Uploaded for Identification: Images processed by our cloud AI are generally deleted immediately after the identification result is returned to your device. If you use the "Scan History" feature, the images and results will be stored locally on your device or linked to your account for as long as you keep the App installed.
- Automatically Collected Data: Retained for 24 months from your last use of the App.
- Feedback and Survey Responses: Retained for 12 months.
- Usage Analytics Data: Retained for 36 months.

7. DEVICE PERMISSIONS USED
To provide the core features, Plam Coin requires access to the following device permissions:
- CAMERA PERMISSION: To take real-time photos of coins for AI scanning.
- READ/WRITE STORAGE OR PHOTO LIBRARY PERMISSION: To upload existing images of coins from your gallery and save identification results locally.
- NETWORK ACCESS PERMISSION: To securely transmit coin images to our cloud-based AI engine and retrieve results.
(Note: If you decline the Camera or Storage permissions, you will be unable to use the core coin identification features.)
8. DATA SECURITY
We employ industry-standard security measures (such as encrypted transmission via HTTPS) to protect your non-personal information and uploaded coin images from unauthorized access or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
9. INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS
Plam Coin is operated globally. Your information, including uploaded coin images and usage data, may be transferred to, processed, and stored in servers located in Hong Kong, the United States, or other countries outside of your jurisdiction of residence. These countries may have data protection laws that are different from those in your country. By using the App, you explicitly consent to the transfer of your data to these facilities. We utilize standard contractual clauses and valid legal mechanisms to safeguard your data during cross-border transfers.
10. THIRD-PARTY ADVERTISING AND ANALYTICS
We partner with third-party advertising networks (e.g., Google AdMob, Facebook Audience Network) to serve personalized ads. These partners may collect hardware/software information, IP addresses, Advertising IDs (Google AAID / Apple IDFA), and device language. This data is used to analyze usage and deliver ads targeted to your interests.
11. YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS
Depending on your jurisdiction, you have the right to know what data we collect, access your data, correct inaccuracies, delete your data, and opt-out of the "sale" or sharing of your data for targeted advertising.
How to Opt-Out of Data Sharing for Advertising:
- Android: Go to Settings > Google > Ads > Reset advertising ID or Opt out of Ads Personalization.
- iOS: Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Apple Advertising > Turn off Personalized Ads.

12. CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS (CCPA RIGHTS)
Pursuant to the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the Right to Know, Right to Opt-Out of the sale/sharing of personal info for targeted ads, Right to Delete, and Right to Non-Discrimination.

13. VIRGINIA RESIDENTS (VCDPA RIGHTS)
Pursuant to the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (VCDPA), Virginia residents have the right to access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy of personal data, and opt-out of targeted advertising or profiling.

14. EEA AND UK RESIDENTS (GDPR RIGHTS)
