Welcome to the Summer 2020 Survival Skills Olympics!
Get ready to bust your moves. This year, the factions have decided to run an “olympics” where you can train and compete for rewards!
This “olympics” puts your survival skills to the test. You can read about the 15 Survival Skills in [this journal]! Survival skills is a new permanent game mechanic introduced in this event. Skills Points can be upgraded by using Skill Books or completing activities to gain Skill Points (similar to faction rep). This event is the best place to get a head start in gathering skill points for your character.
Skills may appear intimidating at first, but they're really quite simple once you get the hang of them. Don’t be afraid to ask a mod for help if you have any questions!
Don’t forget to check out the bonus winning faction prize in the Compete section!
This event will run until the end of the day on August 15th, 2020!
What to Do:
Compete in the running for any or all of the skill(s)! Simply draw your character using that skill. Your character will earn points for their performance. Those who have the highest points will take home bragging rights and bonus rewards. Those from the factions with the people winning the most points will also get some nice prizes. Which faction will come out on top?
The formula used to determine the score is as follows:
Skill level x 2d20
+
Base scrap earned from the submission
+
Character’s Level x 10
Submit a piece to the event folder to enter. You can compete as many times as you want. Specify in the submission description what skill it is your character is competing in.
All submissions must be worth a base of 250 scrap to be eligible.
Only one character belonging to each member can be entered per skill.
There are no extensions allowed for this prompt.

Wanderers also counts as a faction of its own, in this case.
Knowledge has a price, and if buying the costly tomes does not sound interesting to you, you can always go look for them! Bookstores, libraries, people’s personal collections… There are many places where useful readings can be found.
What to Do:
Draw your character collecting or reading books to learn about their desired skill. Specify in your submission description what (one) skill they are working on.
This prompt can be completed once per skill.
Rewards:
►+ 500 scrap

Rewards:
►+ 100 scrap

Not everything is about books. The practice is just as important as the theory!
What to Do:
Draw or write about the skill and a corresponding prompt in the table below together to get one skill point in the corresponding skill. There are 5 prompts per skill. Each character can complete 5 prompts for their specialization skill, but only 2 prompts for all other skills. Specify in your submission description what (one) skill they are working on.
