What is Pixel Factory 2?
Pixel Factory 2 is a game based on manufacturing plants and designing many assembly lines. At the beginning of the game, you start with the following blocks: a copper producer, one assembly line, a seller, and a storage block.
What's new?
Moveable grid! You can now move the grid by your choice and zoom in & out.
The required amount of material for the assemblers to craft.
There is a new feature in the game called Marketing, Marketing is useful for selling items for more profitable value prices.
Storages! You can now store items and sell them by marketing.
Upgrades! You can now upgrade blocks such as producers, furnaces, CNC machines, and hydraulic presses.
No more clones! The tile grid runs on a pen expansion block, 100% pen, including items on the grid!
What has changed?
The tile grid size has increased from 9x11 to 14x20.
The amount of items has increased from 21 to 51
The amount of recipes has increased from 17 to 28
The amount of blocks has increased from 9 to 21
Game development updates:
Each miner will have its own mining speed, the harder the material, the slower the miner. There will be new feature to upgrade blocks, including mining drills. While upgrading mining drill, the drilling speed will increse by 1 game tick.
The max upgrade level will depend on the miner type. For example, the max level for a copper drill will be 2, while the max level for a silicon drill will be 5.
New test versions were made (v0.7t & v0.8t)
Test versions have Block Info Viewer aka the Deconstructor.
Deconstructor can be used to view and edit block rotation, view item rotation, clear assembler storage, view item holding, furnace time and furnace holding, assembler selection, assembler storage, and item frames. Possible key shortcuts:
Q - Toggle block pin
R - Rotate the block
When the game is paused, a new button will pop up on the right side of the pause button, it's ussed to set item frame tick by 1
Caution: 3 bugs being discovered while testing release of version 0.7
This glitch will occur if you build a producer on a splitter. Note: this bug will be removed in v0.8.
This will happen if you press assembler over a button. Note: this bug will be removed in v0.8.
Assembler selection will pop up in front of the menu background. Note: this bug will be removed in v0.8.
I have been working on the new game mechanic planned for a long time, able to stack up the items! As you can see, item sorters won't be able to separate the stacked items into two segments. But why? Because, if the stacked item had a value of an odd number, and it entered the sorter, the sorter would probably glitch out.
A friend recommended adding nuclear items; I thought it was a great idea.
As you can see, there will be a new producer that will produce uranium.
Uranium will be used to craft a nuclear reactor, along with a turbine and boiler.
Check out his amazing projects on Scratch. -> Here.
- Added sector wipe warning
- Added wipe-out items button in the editor
- Added all the items and item values
- Added assembling selection
- Added toggle assembling editor button
- Changed the look of the pause button
- Changed item rotation to off by default
- Bug fix: Removed invisible border
Item assembling is still not finished in the released v0.7
Currently, assemblers only need one item at a time to assemble the item product.
And items that remain in the assembler storage list won't save,
because the whole "item #" in the list gets replaced by a value of 0.
Circuit assembler - 4 crafting items
Assembler M1 - 9 crafting items
Assembler M2 - 15 crafting items
Total of 28 items to craft!
In this image is an old item value list, it was a list of item values that was used during v0.7 development. Some of the values of the items in the list were changed before the beta testing of v0.7 was published.
The only change was that the car value was reduced from 25k to 15k and the AI robot value was increased from 7,5k to charming 35k.
The item list has been finally added to version 0.7 along with other stuff and some bug fixes that were caused while adding new stuff to the game.
(It took a couple of minutes to fix the bugs)
Every time an item enters the factory, that item is saved in that block's list.
It is "planned" that every time the factory has enough material for production, the items from the list get deleted, and the items that are left in that factory are stored.
The starting mineral production rate will be 3 ticks in the game.
Increasing the speed of production by reducing 1 tick will be possible through upgrading the production block. Each producer will have its own level of upgrading.
Thanks for sticking around! ♡
