They have not planned for the fall yet but will reach out if in need of help and can check back in on occasion too.
If Option 1, which is well supported, does not have any need, it is helpful to reach out to the Haven Center or Plus One in Huron

Anne Hanson 605-881-6659 and hansonmarketing@wat.midco.net) in Watertown, a close relative to our Jon Beebe. She and a few others are starting up a new pregnancy center in Watertown. They are hoping for an ultrasound machine, so don’t be surprised if the state also grabs hold of this. However, Option 1 in Brookings has been well supported and the family baskets for families of newborns are already taken care of in Brookings by the Hospital. As a result, Option 1 got me into contact with Anne. I gave her the contact of the Watertown GK and let her know we would likely contribute financially but would probably leave the physical stuff to the local knights. If you would like to get more information on this please reach out to Anne.

Areas that you specifically were intrested included dates in August of 2023 to April of 2024. One of the best options available if interested is serving dinner every 4th Tuesday of the month. We can schedule your group well in advance so that the group could plan on once a month. This would allow the group to comfortably plan scheduling on a consistent basis, not get burned out, and if there are not a lot of people available that day that is ok as well, cause it does not take a significant number of people to serve dinner. Ideally it would be 3 people, but we can do as little as one volunteer as well.
Our meal serves are as follows
Meal Serves.
Breakfast 6:15a-7:30a 1-3 Volunteers
Noon 11:15a-12:30p 1-5 Volunteers
Evening 6p-8p 3+ Volunteers
The number of volunteers listed is an optimal average and in no way suggests a minimum or maximum requirement. I have had groups as large as 25 serve breakfast and many evening meals are served by single volunteers.
There are currently multiple dates to serve breakfast, lunch, or dinners throughout the 2023 calendar year. If you are interested in serving a meal consistently throughout the year the following dates for each month are available.
