Bylaws are a set of rules or law established by an organization or community (our Council) so as to regulate itself, as allowed or provided for by some higher authority. The higher authority (Supreme), generally a legislature or some other government body, establishes the degree of control that the by-laws may exercise. By-laws may be established by entities such as a business corporation, a neighborhood association, or depending on the jurisdiction, a municipality.
The production of our bylaws was overseen by Fr. Patrick Grode, much of the language and content is copied and pasted from the Constitution of the Order (to which it is subordinated) and the SAE fraternity. TJ Jacoby, Jacob Rausch, Carter Carruthers, Peter Stoffel, and the Officer team of this time worked to together to compile the pre-amended Bylaws.
