Jill Harvey recently celebrated her 20-year anniversary with the Swanson School of Engineering, and serves as the Director of First-Year Advising. In 2022, she won the Chancellor’s Award for Staff in the category of Excellent Mentor. She is proud to lead the First-Year Advising team in delivering a supportive, learning-focused advising program that launches department-ready engineering students into their majors, and consistently retains students at Pitt from the first- to second-year at an exceptionally high rate. Jill’s B.S. in Psychology comes from Loyola University Chicago, and she earned her Master’s in Education from the University of South Carolina.
Lori is a recognized leader in climatetech strategy, sales, and growth. She has worked with leading brands and municipalities decarbonizing their heavy-duty fleet operations. She has also worked with established companies and franchises to manage and reduce electric costs with smart energy platforms and demand response. She is a Returned Peace Corps Volunteer and winner of a Factor8 award in Sales Leadership. She holds a BA from California State University – Fullerton and an M.A. in Sustainability & M.A. in Conflict from the Heller School at Brandeis University. Lori has a passion for developing and mentoring up-and-coming talent and hiking with her dog.
Karen Levin, PMP has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Carnegie-Mellon University, an MBA from the University of Pittsburgh, and is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP). She is an experienced Program Manager with a combination of engineering, project, and program management expertise developed through a career in manufacturing, research and development, information technology, and robotics. She recently retired from Near Earth Autonomy, where she was a Principal Program Manager overseeing projects involving the design, development and deployment of autonomous aerial vehicles, with a focus on mobility and inspection applications; she worked with customers to provide flight-proven core autonomy technologies, enabling a range of aircraft to operate across multiple applications, helping to create a future where autonomous flight is safe and accessible.
Beth Peters is Co-Director of Recruitment and Women’s Programs in the First-Year Engineering Program at the Swanson School of Engineering at the University of Pittsburgh. As the organizer of the first women’s program within the Swanson School, she hopes to create a catalyst to support the current students to learn more about women-centered programs and initiatives, while being committed to the recruitment and retention of this population. With 38% of the students in the Swanson School of Engineering identifying as women, the school consistently ranks within the top 5 universities in the U.S. as one of the best colleges for graduating women in engineering. Her goal is to see gender parity in the near future reaching more women with the power to be leaders in their field. She is also the advisor to Pitt’s Society of Women Engineers. As an avid outdoor enthusiast, Beth enjoys skiing, hiking, biking, and camping in her downtime.
Edugie Niepa is a Lockheed Martin Sr. Technical Fellow specializing in Systems Engineering and Enterprise Architecture. She is recognized and relied upon as an expert in leading, designing, and implementing large scale development and integration projects across the Lockheed Martin Enterprise. She has demonstrated progressive technical experience across multiple Business Areas for both external and internal Lockheed Martin customers.
In her current role as the Chief Engineer for the Lockheed Martin Enterprise Business and Digital Transformation, Edugie is responsible for establishing and managing the program Technical Baseline, program execution, and completing delivery of robust Enterprise-level capabilities for the Value Streams to meet the program’s business objectives.
