THANK YOU TO OUR PANELISTS AND PARTICIPANTS!
Motivation about the Agent Based Modeling (ABM) Workshop
Methods based research is pertinent for research inquiry as a graduate student. This workshop will allow for students to experience and understand Agent-Based Modeling (ABM) as a method beyond research that leverages the approaches of quantitative and qualitative methods of inquiry. For this workshop, students will have the opportunity to listen to a panel discussion of experts in various disciplines share their perspectives regarding the intricacies and affordances of using agent-based models in their work. Additionally, participants will be provided the opportunity to gain some hands-on experience and learn about tools and tips about current ABM software. Lastly, the workshop will culminate with a roundtable where participants can ask the experts questions and obtain more in-depth information about how they can leverage ABM in their own research areas.
The goals of our workshop are to inform and empower our fellow colleagues in an area of methods that they may not be familiar with. Additionally, we think that our workshop piques the interests of the participants to eventually learn more about this topic through formal and informal settings.

Roundtable Q & A: After students have gained some hands-on experience and learned more about what agent-based modeling entails, the round table gives them a chance to consult with experts on how they may be able to leverage ABM within their own research.
