Metrics Explained

Defense Independent Game Score (DIGS)

DIGS is a formula-based metric measuring IP, SO, BB, HBP, HR, & H. It is designed for multi-inning pitchers, is adjusted for park (MLB) & age (MiLB), and regresses for league average batted ball (H & HR). DIGS scoring (where 50 is average) is used to estimate a player's ERA, then converted to DIGS+ ( where 100 is average).

DIGS+ Scale: 100 = Lg Average; 120 = Very Good (+); 140 = Excellent (++); 160 = Elite (+++)

Batter Game Score (BaGS)

BaGS is a hitter rating system designed around the inputs of ottoneu fantasy scoring (AB, H, 2B, 3B, HR, BB, HBP, SB, & CS). Statcast Barrels & Hard Hit% are also incorporated, as is a batted ball regression. BaGS is park-adjusted for MLB & age-adjusted for MiLB. BaGS scoring (where 50 is average) is used to estimate a player's wOBA, then converted to BaGS+ ( where 100 is average).

BaGS+ Scale: 100 = Lg Average; 125 = Very Good (+); 150 = Excellent (++); 175 = Elite (+++)
