In the Anubia and Rice Forests a critter croaks. Meet the Forest Croaker, descendant of the Seasoarers that stay year round. Due to staying in a terrestrial environment with predators, they have adapted stronger ventral fins and tails. Being able to walk around like a sea lion, not exactly the fastest but fast enough to escape predators. Special muscles in the tail act like a spring, erupting when contracting with little energy.
More physical changes occurred to help with forest survival, their shining silver scales shifted into flexible green scales without much shine. Their mouths have shifted forward similar to a bird, being able to pluck various invertebrates with ease. Once the pray have been caught, they put it in their mouth but don't swallow. Instead bony ridges on their hard tongue and pallet crush up food, allowing them to gain as much nutrients are possible. These nutrients are quite needed to fuel their endothermic bodies, especially the muscles controlling the wings.
These physical changes however prompted their predators to evolve. Solidifying an evolutionary arms race for terrestrial dominance, a rivalry of the ages ensues.
