The Piscataqua Seed Project is a community-based organization whose mission is to empower people to grow food locally and save heirloom seeds for future generations. We encourage the sharing of skills and knowledge and believe that a healthy food system is critical for creating resilient communities and connecting us to our cultural heritage.
Our goal is to increase the availability of open-pollinated seed for families, schools and other groups who wish to grow plants in their own gardens. Our focus is on locally adapted and regionally significant foods that grow well in our climate. We distribute seed at local events and libraries throughout the Seacoast and offer workshops on growing and saving seed.
