LexiT: Translator & Flashcards (the “App”) provides translation services and a convenient way to store and manage translations. Your privacy is important to us, and this Privacy Policy explains how we handle and store your data.
Data Collection
LexiT collects and processes minimal data about users. We do not share data with third parties and do not use analytics services to collect usage data.
Local Data Storage
All data created by the user is stored locally on the user’s device using SwiftData and UserDefaults. This data remains on the device and is not transmitted to any third parties or remote servers, except as may be managed by Apple.
Use of Apple Translator API
LexiT uses the Apple Translator API to provide translation services. To use this API, users may need to download language packs through an Apple interface. These language packs are downloaded and stored on the user’s device, and their use is governed by Apple’s privacy policy.
Access to Camera and Photo Library
The App may request access to the camera and photo library to recognize text in images, allowing users to translate text from photos.
Photos used for text recognition are retained on the user’s device and are not transmitted to any external servers or third parties.
Access to Microphone
The App may request access to the microphone to enable voice translation and other voice-related features. Voice data is processed on the device and is not stored or transmitted to external servers. Microphone access can be managed through your device’s Settings.
Subscriptions and Payments
Our Services include in-app purchases, e.g. subscriptions. If you want to make an in-app purchase, you may do this with the help of in-app payment system provided by the Platform (AppStore managed by Apple) and integrated in the Services. The in-app payment system is managed by the Platform administration or its authorized partner. Under no circumstances does we collect or process any information related to your payment instrument, such as bank card number, its validity term or your name as written on it.
Access to iCloud
LexiT allows users to sync their data across devices using Apple iCloud. When iCloud is enabled, your data, such as flashcards, folders, sections, is securely synced and stored in your iCloud account. This syncing is managed by Apple, and the App does not directly access or control your iCloud account. The use of iCloud is governed by Apple’s privacy policy. Users can disable iCloud syncing for the App via their device’s Settings.
User Access to Date
Users have the right to manage their data. All data created within the App, such as flashcards and sections, is stored on the device, and users can delete these at any time. Deleting the App will also remove all user-created data from the device.
Language packs required for translation, downloaded through Apple, can be managed and deleted through the device’s Settings.
