Hi, I'm Isabelle, owner and trainer at Pine Paws 406.
My goal is to help dogs and their owners build confidence, communication, and lasting skills through practical, personalized training. Whether you're raising a new puppy, working on obedience, or facing behavioral challenges, I'm here to help you and your dog succeed together.
I have been training dogs for several years and have successfully trained two service dogs from start to finish. Along the way, I have also helped train numerous other service dogs and pet dogs. My experience includes working with a wide variety of training goals and behavioral challenges, allowing me to continually refine and improve my training methods.
Pine Paws 406 was founded to help dog owners who feel overwhelmed, frustrated, or unsure where to begin. I remember being that owner myself—working with a dog that pulled on the leash, ignored commands, and seemed determined to chase everything in sight. Through patience, consistency, and clear communication, I learned how to build a stronger relationship with my dog, and now I help others do the same.
I am especially passionate about helping puppy owners build a strong foundation from the very beginning. Early training can make a lifetime of difference, and my goal is to help you raise a confident, well-mannered dog while avoiding many of the common challenges owners face.
If an 11-year-old can teach a dog to walk politely, listen reliably, and even play hide-and-seek, imagine what you and your dog can accomplish together.

At Pine Paws 406, I believe training is about more than teaching commands—it's about building trust, communication, and understanding between dogs and their owners. Every dog is different, which is why I create individualized training plans focused on confidence, clarity, and long-term success.
My passion for dog training began in 2016 when I got my first dog and immediately fell in love with the training process. I was fascinated by watching dogs learn, solve problems, and gain confidence. Since then, my goal has remained the same: helping owners better understand their dogs while helping dogs better understand their owners through clear communication.
Every dog is an individual, and there is no one-size-fits-all approach to training. Even when two dogs struggle with the same issue, the path to success may look completely different. I strive to help dogs become confident, neutral around distractions, engaged with their owners, and capable of living happy, fulfilling lives. I also believe that owners play a critical role in the training process. Because dogs do not automatically generalize behaviors across different environments and people, owners must learn how to continue and maintain their dog’s training long after our sessions end. My job is not only to train dogs, but to teach owners how to communicate effectively with them.
My training approach is balanced, focusing on clear communication, consistency, repetition, rewards, and fair consequences. Depending on the individual dog, I may utilize a variety of training tools, including treats, toys, praise, slip leads, martingale collars, prong collars, or e-collars.These tools are used thoughtfully and responsibly as part of a training plan tailored to the individueal dog. Training should never create fear, shut a dog down, or force them into situations they are not ready to handle. Instead, training should build confidence, create understanding, and help dogs learn how to navigate the world successfully.
I believe reliability is more important than speed, relationships are more important than quick results, and both structure and freedom are essential for a well-rounded dog.

Our puppy classes focus on building confidence, engagement, and appropriate social skills while teaching puppies how to remain neutral around people, dogs, and everyday distractions. Through exercises and training games, puppies will learn to focus on their owners, develop good manners, and gain positive experiences in new environments.
Basic obedience

Build the skills needed for everyday life. These lessons focus on leash manners, sit, down, stay, focus, recall, and other practical obedience skills. Whether you're starting from the beginning or refining existing behaviors, the goal is to create clear communication and a stronger relationship between you and your dog.
Service Dog training

For individuals seeking a Psychiatric Service Dog, these sessions focus on obedience, public access skills, and task training tailored to the handler's individual needs. Training plans are personalized to help create a reliable service dog capable of assisting its handler in everyday life while promoting greater independence and confidence.

Alongside our other services, private lessons provide personalized one-on-one instruction tailored to your individual goals and your dog's specific needs. These sessions allow for a more detailed and flexible training plan than a group setting
