Inviting all Curious Agents to attend our workshop!
The goal of PIMBAA is to bring together experts in intrinsic motivation across cognitive sciences, neuroscience, developmental science, robotics and AI. Each of these fields uses reinforcement learning (RL) to understand, model, or generate good decisions.
Concurrent work across fields is beginning to show that the objectives that give rise to good decisions are richer than maximizing extrinsic reward. However, long-standing disciplinary divides mean that there is currently a zoo of different intrinsic motivation frameworks and little in the way of organizing principles that would be useful for understanding natural agents or building better artificial ones.
Because these experts all attend RLDM, this workshop is taking advantage of this rare opportunity to coalesce the community around a core understanding of the principles of intrinsic motivations.
Join us in Dublin!
Want to participate?
We are looking for people who want to give lightning talks as part of our workshop. We welcome anyone from the RLDM community who is examining intrinsic motivations in development, robotics, cognitive science, neuroscience or AI. We especially encourage work that aims to compare existing intrinsic objectives or that proposes new principles to understand behaviour as an intrinsically generated phenomenon.
You will only need to share your ~300 word RLDM abstract to apply, so please do not hesitate to join us!
