🧑‍✈️ Section 4: Enroll in Flying School

Heading: Step 4: Join a DGCA-Approved Flying School

• Minimum required flying hours: 200 hours
  
  

• Choose a flying club or academy approved by DGCA like:

  • Indira Gandhi Institute of Aeronautics
    
    

• Types of aircraft used: Cessna 172, DA-40, etc.

• Or you can go for Cadet Pilot Program in India offered by IndiGo, Air India, SpiceJett etc.

• Most preferred conventional Method (Own way for 200 hours) 

• For low budget flying and faster accomplishment of 200 hours go South Africa, contact flying club or enroll in ground class (The Pilot.in) for better and ease of process

Section 5: Get Your Class 1 Medical

Heading: Step 5: Pass DGCA Class 1 Medical
Content:

• Can be done through DGCA-approved centers
  
  

• Includes:
  
  

  • Investigations required are-

  • 1.   Blood- Hb%, TLC, DLC

  • 2.   Urine- RE/ME

  • 3.   Resting ECG

  • 4.   Pure Tone Audiometry

  • 5.  X Ray Chest (PA View) with film and opinion of Radiologist

  • 6.   Refraction with prescription & Fundoscopy with opinion of an Ophthalmologist 

  • 7.   USG Abdomen & Pelvis

  • 
    

  • Please appreciate that additional investigations may be required if so warranted by the findings in clinical examination.

  • Please ensure that your ECG is recorded on a single A4 size paper. It will help in scanning and uploading.
