We are looking for a frontend web developer to help maintain and improve the Pillars of Tech website. www.pillarsoftech.org
In this role, you will focus on building and refining the user interface, updating content, and ensuring the website looks clean and functions smoothly across all devices. You will work on real features and pages that are actively used by our community.
This is a hands-on role ideal for someone interested in frontend development and creating polished, user-facing experiences.
Maintain and update the frontend of the Pillars of Tech website
Build and improve UI components and page layouts
Add and update pages as needed
Ensure the website is fully responsive across devices (mobile, tablet, desktop)
Improve usability, design consistency, and overall user experience
Identify and fix visual bugs or frontend issues
Collaborate with the team on design and feature improvements
Basic experience with TypeScript, React, and Next.js
Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and responsive design
Ability to build clean, organized, and reusable UI components
Attention to detail in layout, spacing, and design
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Willingness to learn and improve
Ability to deliver high-quality work
Experience with Tailwind CSS
Eye for design and user experience
Tasks should be completed in a timely and reliable manner
Clear and consistent communication with the team is required
Members are expected to actively contribute and follow through on assigned work
Generative AI tools (such as ChatGPT or Copilot) may be used to assist in development, but all submitted work must be understood and reviewed by the developer
Missed deadlines or lack of participation may result in removal from the role
Depending on the workload of that week, it may range from none, all the way to 2-4 hours, depending on how large the event is. Please also understand that you are not confined just to web development, but may be asked to complete other tasks within Pillars of Tech, depending on where we need the help.
