Medical disclaimer. Pill Identifier is an informational and organizational tool. It does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment, and AI-generated identifications and answers may be incomplete or inaccurate. Always rely on the medicine’s official packaging and confirm anything important with a qualified pharmacist or doctor. Never make medication decisions based solely on the App.
Your data stays on your device. Your medications, reminders, dose history, profile and any medical details you enter are stored locally on your device, not on our servers.
No accounts. You do not need to create an account or give us your email to use the App.
No analytics, ads, or tracking SDKs. We do not embed third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking software, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
We do not sell your personal information.
One exception - AI processing. When you scan a pill or ask a question, the relevant image and/or text is sent to a third-party AI service (Google Gemini) to generate a result (see Section 3).
Profile & onboarding answers — e.g., the name you enter, your stated goals, how many medications you take, and what brings you to the App.
Medical details you choose to add — optional fields such as allergies, health conditions, blood type, emergency contact, and notes that you may enter on your Medical Card.
Medication data — medicines you save, dosages, reminders and schedules you create, and the dose logs (taken / missed / skipped) you record.
Photos you scan — images of pills or medication packaging that you capture or select for identification.
Questions you ask — the free-text questions you type into the in-App AI chat.
Unless stated otherwise (see Section 3 and Section 9), all of the above is stored locally on your device and is not transmitted to or stored by GoCloud.
On-device app settings — preferences such as your appearance (Dark Mode) choice, notification permission status, daily usage credits, and whether you have completed onboarding. These are stored on your device.
We do not use third-party analytics, crash-reporting, advertising, or tracking SDKs, and we do not collect device identifiers for tracking purposes.
Apple App Store data. When you download the App or make a purchase, Apple processes information (such as aggregated, anonymized analytics and purchase records) under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We may see aggregate, non-identifying sales and usage statistics from Apple, but not your identity.
The App’s pill identification and AI chat features are powered by Google Gemini AI provider. To generate a result:
When you scan a pill, the photo you submit is sent to the third-party AI provider for analysis.
When you ask a question in the AI chat, the text of your question, the relevant conversation history, and details about the specific medicine being discussed are sent to Google Gemini to produce an answer.
This processing is necessary to deliver the feature you requested. Google Gemini processes this content on our behalf to return a result and is subject to its own privacy and data-handling terms. We do not send your name, contact details, or your stored Medical Card to the AI provider as part of these requests.
Please avoid including personal information in photos or questions. Do not capture faces, prescription labels showing your name or patient ID, or other identifying details in the images you scan, and do not type personal identifiers into the chat. Content you submit is sent to the AI provider to generate your result.

Where the EU/UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:
Performance of a contract — to provide the App’s core features you request, including pill identification and AI answers.
Consent — for sending push notifications (via your device permission), for processing any health-related details you choose to enter, and for submitting photos/questions to the AI provider when you use those features. You can withdraw consent at any time (see Section 15).
Legitimate interests — to keep the App secure, functioning, and improving, where this is not overridden by your rights.
Legal obligation — where we must process information to comply with the law.
Some information you may enter — such as the medications you take, allergies, or health conditions — can constitute health or “special category” data. Providing this information is entirely optional and at your discretion. This data is stored locally on your device and is processed on the basis of your explicit consent, which you provide by choosing to enter it. You can edit or delete it at any time within the App, and it is removed when you reset the App’s data or uninstall the App.
We do not sell your personal information and we do not share it for advertising. We disclose information only as follows:
Third-party AI provider (Google Gemini) — receives the photos and/or text you submit, solely to generate identification results and chat answers, as described in Section 4.
Apple — processes App downloads, subscriptions, and purchases through the App Store and StoreKit.
Legal & safety — we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of GoCloud, our users, or others.
Business transfers — if GoCloud is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.
The App offers optional auto-renewing subscriptions (for example, weekly and yearly plans) and uses Apple’s in-app purchase system. All payments are processed by Apple; we never receive or store your payment card details. We receive only your subscription status (active / inactive) so the App can unlock premium features. Subscriptions are managed through your Apple Account settings and are governed by Apple’s terms and Privacy Policy.
If you grant permission, the App sends local notifications to remind you to take medication, based on the schedules you create. These notifications are generated on your device. You can disable them at any time in your device’s system settings or by removing reminders in the App.
Your medications, reminders, dose history, profile, and Medical Card details are stored on your device and remain there until you delete them, use the App’s “Reset & Delete All Data” function, or uninstall the App.
Photos and questions submitted to the AI provider are processed to return a result; retention by the AI provider is governed by its own terms.
Because we do not operate user accounts or store your content on our servers, uninstalling the App removes the App’s locally stored data from your device.
We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. Data stored within the App benefits from the operating system’s built-in protections (such as app sandboxing and device encryption when your device passcode is enabled), and AI requests are transmitted over encrypted connections. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Keeping your device locked with a passcode and up to date helps protect your information.
When you use the AI features, the content you submit may be processed on servers located in countries other than your own, including outside the EU/EEA or UK. Where required, such transfers are protected by appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision). By using the AI features, you understand that your submitted content may be processed internationally to deliver your result.
The App is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The App is intended to be used by adults, or by a parent or guardian on a child’s behalf. If you believe a child has provided information through the App, please contact us and we will help you delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights regarding your personal information:
Access — to know what information is processed about you.
Rectification — to correct inaccurate information.
Erasure — to delete your information.
Restriction & objection — to limit or object to certain processing.
Portability — to receive certain information in a portable format.
Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, at any time.
How to exercise your rights. Because your content is stored on your device, you are in direct control of most of it: you can view, edit, and delete your medicines, reminders, history, profile and Medical Card directly in the App, and you can erase everything using “Reset & Delete All Data” in Settings or by uninstalling the App. You can also disable notifications and AI features by not using them. For any request we can assist with, contact us at support@gocloud.app. If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended by the CPRA) gives you the right to know what personal information is collected, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to not be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We do not “sell” or “share” your personal information as those terms are defined under California law, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. To exercise your rights, use the in-App controls described above.
We may update this Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Policy.
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or your information, please contact us.
