This is where new employees often get confused. PIFRA registration is not limited to any one sector, province, or grade. You are eligible if you are:

• A federal or provincial government employee — teachers, doctors, police officers, clerks, administrative staff — all included

• A pensioner receiving a government pension (same registration portal)

• Working at district, provincial, or federal level — all provinces and regions of Pakistan are covered

Step-by-Step PIFRA Registration Process (2026)

The official registration portal is m.pifra.gov.pk/salaryslip_emp. You can also reach it through the FABS website (fab.tra.gov.pk), which redirects to the same system. Follow these steps exactly:

Visit the Official PIFRA Portal

• Open m.pifra.gov.pk/salaryslip_emp

• on your mobile or laptop browser. Only use this official URL. Any third-party site claiming to register you is not affiliated with AGPR or CGA.2

Fill Out the Registration Form

• Enter your Government Code, Employee ID, CNIC (no dashes), Date of Birth (no dashes), and active mobile number. Then click the verify button.

Information Verification

• If your details match the government database, you'll see: "Your given information is correct." If you see an error, the problem is a data mismatch — not a typo on your side. Contact your DDO office to check what's on file.

Click the Email Registration Button

• After verification, click the email registration button to proceed to the next step.

Enter and Confirm Your Email

• Type your email address, enter it again in the confirmation field, then press Enter. The system will show: "Now it is all OK. Please click the submit button." Double-check for spelling errors — there's no easy way to change your email after this.

Submit and Confirm

• Click the final submit button. A confirmation message will appear in Urdu confirming your email has been registered. Your payslip will now arrive automatically every month.

Tip: If the portal loads slowly or crashes, try again late at night when server traffic is much lower. The PIFRA system experiences heavy load around payroll dates each month.

What Happens After You Register?

A lot of people register and then panic two weeks later because nothing has arrived. This is completely normal. Your first slip appears during the next payroll cycle after your registration — not immediately.

If you registered mid-month, expect to wait 3–5 weeks before that first email lands. After that, it comes automatically every month without any action on your part.

Also check your spam or junk folder. Emails from government systems occasionally get filtered, especially the first time. Once you mark it as "Not Spam," future slips go straight to your inbox.

One thing most people don't realize: PIFRA doesn't always send a verification link after registration. Unlike most platforms, the system simply begins delivering your slip from the next payroll cycle. No login required, no monthly check-in — your inbox is your permanent payslip archive. 

Your full slip history accumulates in your email over time — useful for loan applications, bank statements, and visa processing, since banks and embassies accept these as official financial records. 

Can Pensioners Register on PIFRA?

Yes — and the process is nearly identical to active employees. Pensioners use the same registration portal at m.pifra.gov.pk with one difference: instead of an Employee ID, you enter the Personal Number from your Pension Book.

The system identifies your pensioner status automatically once your details are verified. After successful registration, you receive monthly pension slips directly to your email — no more visiting pension offices for documentation.

One important note for pensioners: if your pension slips stop arriving, it's usually linked to a lapsed biometric Life Certificate. This is now required periodically through NADRA or your bank. Once renewed, slips resume the following month automatically.

They are the same system accessed through different names. FABS (Financial Accounting and Budgeting System) is the administrative/technical name; PIFRA is the broader project name. Both URLs lead to the same portal and the same data. 

Do I need to re-register every year?

No. PIFRA registration is a one-time process. Once done, slips arrive every month without any action from you. The only exception is pensioners whose biometric Life Certificate lapses — that triggers a pause in slip delivery until renewed.
